I was in the store the other day and I took longer than usual looking around. I guess it's because I have some money burning a hole in my pocket. Anyways, I saw the botanicare line. I am on their website right now and I noticed something that piqued my interest.

The 'vegetative' stage of 18/6 (I run 24/0) last for only 3 weeks...then 8 weeks of 12/12. Is that 3 weeks of decent growth or 3 weeks from seed? How is time 'measured' in terms of clones and seeds?

Thank you

I would say to veg your plant based on the size it is and the size you want it. Not necessarily in weeks. You can also use the custom calculator on their site to better dial in what you're trying to do. My next run will be using this line and I am pretty excited about it.

Well I base my flip on my grow area. If I had more room and more lighting I would let my plants grow bigger but being that I am in a small tent under CFL's and LED's. (460w total combined) I try to keep my plants trained down. I would say I dont let them get any higher than 2 ft. (Thats 2 feet after ive trained it down)

I will more than not though flip around the 4th week of full feeding.

"Full Feeding" so maybe 2 weeks from seed? Then 4 weeks or less...then into flower? Of course, that's assuming the plant is healthy and has plenty of vigorous growth.

I would wait 3 weeks from when the seed breaks the surface to consider it week one. BUT that's just me

I don't usually feed anything other than vitamins until the second or third node, but I use bubbled tap at around a 6ph in an amended soil-less medium. I try to let the plants tell me what they want in veg until the couple of weeks before flipping when I start slowly preping them for flower.

Grow on,Fred

I use their Pure Blend series. I wouldn't worry to much about following their chart precisely. I think they make most of it up. I've got 3 feed charts from them each with considerable differences.

What I would do for hydro. Is mix up a rez using their measurements from the chart then dilute the rez with straight water to get the PPM's between 800-1200. I'm using 800 PPM's for small clones and seedlings and they like it. Between 1000-1200 for anything bigger.

You should veg based on size but keep in mind they get a lot bigger during flowering. Bigger isn't always better. I recommend erring on the side of smaller the first few times. Till you learn what kind of growth you can expect from the strains you run.

How long you will need to veg is based on your set up and how well they do. How many Watts per foot you have and the square feet with the height. I think if id turn them back after two weeks of accelerated growth.
