suppliment hps with t5's on the side?

about to flower some girls. They are from seed and are about 7 weeks old vegging under t5's. I have a 1k(dimmable) hps on light rail mover. Anyway. im doing a longer veg and my room is about 9 x 5.5 but i only use 5 x 5.5 space for plants. Anyway, im gonna flip soon and was just wondering if anyone suppliments there hps(or other hid) with t5's on the side or top? Or if its just a waste.

im thinking on the side to hit uder canopy but not sure how to hang it on the side

I use t5 or t8 to suppliment small hps bulbs (150-250w) and leds.
They are good, but for them to be effective they need to be as close as they can to the plant tops, so i put them 10-15 cm lower that other lights, on the sides, beeing careful not to block light from the main light source by their placement. they add different wavelenghts and provide more light and better distribution, so you should add them if you get the chance.

I'm building something for my t-5s tomorrow. My question is, should I mix red and blue for the t5 or just keep the bulbs in the same spectrum as the big light?
