i am just about ready to get my new cab up and running. But first i need a really important device added..Fans.. My plan is to use 2 80 cfm on the side, parallel to the tops of the ladies. and 4 2" intake holes on the floor. For the exhaust i was thinking on using a bathroom exhaust fan, does anyone have any inputs on my choice, any better ideas? thanks guyss! feel free to ask questions if its a tad it confusing, pretty medicated..lol. well take care and thanks!

i think i paid like 95$ for mine .

thanks dansbuds, i appreciate it! i was wondering about the replacement fans you can get from HD , that are like 12-15 bucks.. you think those wouldnt do anything to get the air circulating? thanks for the help!:tiphat:

panasonic whispers are the shit!! im an electrician for a living, whenever i install these, i have to light a piece of paper on fire to see if its working because i can't hear it. they come in a bunch of sizes and configurations. i've used some bigger models to exhaust 600w cabinets and am sure they could handle alot more... and there's a post about diy'ing a carbon scrubber here in the link-o-rama thread(awesome thread btw)

thanks so much for the input! gonna look into the inlin booster, but its looking like the Panasonic whisper is gonna be the permanent exhaust fan..once the funds have been gathered. haha

I use a $25 broan fan from lowes to vent my 40x40x48 cab with a 400w light. it keeps my cab cool with the lights on. Its not that loud but i did build a plywood box around mine which made it even quieter. You dont have to spend a lot of money to keep your small cabs cool.. :)

the wires in the first pic are what you are looking for. if you are using a 3 prong cord just connect color to color. also a romex connecter would be handy to avoid chafing wires where they pass through the hole. good luck and be safe :D

thanks Galahad. just to clear things up a bit more, cut all three wires in box, and wire it to the male extension cord, and viola?! :thank you:

Those booster fans are a joke. Save your money. IMO

JC, id feel better if you leave the electric work to someone who had studied how to do it safely. Not that it WILL start a fire if you splice that, but do you know it won't? Did you know a contact arc burns at about the temp of the surface of the sun? That's how fires are started.

Anyway there is already a plug on the fan. Why don't you just use that? It's on the lower right of your last picture. If you need it to stay contained you may be able to bend stuff out of the way to get an extension cord in there.

Cool JC,
I just worry about people burning to death. I've rigged stuff up that works fine then years later find out that wasn't the right way to do it. I getting the electric done professionally and inspected next time.

I had the fire Dept come through the house because a neighbor *thought* he smelled a gas leak. Given how half-assed that set up was it could have been way worse.
I digress ...

Good luck man
