Hey BF, I'd phone Alaska Peat and Premier Hort in Canada and find out who carries their product in your area.

Try home DePot... any nursery should most likely carry it too. Prolly once season starts should be easier to find!

good luck bro!

Looks like Alaska Peat may be your best bet. Up here 3.8 Cu. Ft. averages $8 to $10

you could bump up the EWC a little bit i would do more like 75lb-100lb never hurts

That's the recipe out of High Times from the dude that runs TGA seeds Mz Jill is his partner. Can't remember his name at the moment.

Running a soil mix with all the "super" soil on top will likely burn your plants man. Microbes use up a fair chunk of N but they will be pissed off by high amounts of P. Roots Organics soil w my dry ingredients started to burn plants all of a sudden after a couple of years. Made my own mix recently and burned 2 out of 4 of my strains.

I'll be running something like this next time:

30% peat
10% bark mulch
10% coco fiber
10% coco chunk
20% ewc or compost
20% perlite

added to each gallon:

1.5tbs lime
1/2 tbs HF 3-8-8
1/2tbs fish meal
1/2tbs kelp
1/2tbs greensand
1/2tbs soft rock phosphate
I'll add a tbs or two of fish bone meal to the bottom of the pot as well.
Everything but the lime has been cut in half since I burned up some plants. This mix will work fine may have to add a tea or two in flower.

Adding EWC to the top of your pot turns it into MUD.

Subcool is his is name.....and has been involved with breeding cannabis for quite a while now. Many types out there have decent genetic selections thanks to this guy...
quote "Adding EWC to the top of your pot turns it into MUD..."

Topdressing with EWC when you have lockout issues is the best thing next to sliced pie...this is like pressing 'restart' 99% of the time...I cant' begin to think of all the gardens I've saved by telling them to topdress with EWC...endless...

Typically the topdress is worked into the soil where it is mixed with the other components on the surface...mud is the least of concerns if you felt the need to topdress or were instructed to...that's silly.

bumping this :] What, BullFrog was croaking too loud?

Yup, apparently it is now against the TOU to disagree with a MOD. I was also threatened that I am now on a list.

They were not connected? You should be able to track down a contact with the companies.

They were connected but none of the suppliers are located around me or sell to individuals. The closest thing was Dr. Earth distributor that was about 2 hours away. Thanks for trying, it seemed like a good lstart.

I did find bags of premium organic peat moss at Lowe's for 10$ a bag @ 3 cu ft. I picked up three and it seems like real nice peat. I think I might just buy 6-7 more bags and call it a yard. So I guess I will be paying around 100$ for a yard of peat!!! wtf!!! O well, it will pay off ten fold in the end.

So I was thinking as my base I will do the following.....

1 yard of Peat moss
2 yards of lava rock 5/16
.5 yard of Diestel Chicken Compost http://www.lyngsogarden.com/index.c...ategory=SOILS&categoryid=1088&productId=70244
.5 yards of Garden Compost http://www.lyngsogarden.com/index.c...Category=SOILS&categoryid=1088&productId=1311
1 yard of Double Dooty Compost http://www.lyngsogarden.com/index.c...ategory=SOILS&categoryid=1088&productId=71050

Not sure if I can get them to sell me a yard of EWC, but I am going to try. If I did what should I eliminate?

Should I add a yard of Garden Soil?

I need about 3-5 yards total, but I can always store some in garbage cans.

what's up h2?

I find myself needing some small amount of compost and my compost pile isn't ready yet. I'm going to see about ordering a small bag. Like a cuft.

That's not that bad. We pay $9 for 3.8 cu ft. I can get it delivered loose at $40 per yard plus trucking but then I've gotto have a place to dump it and its a 20 yard minimum.

if you can get to a worm farm near you you can get as many yards of ewc you need.
