Hey everyone my ladies need some help!

I've got 4 Tahoe Og and 1 Deadhead OG in LC's Mix #2 with Recipe #1(Dry ferts) for food. They are under a 1000 watt HPS in a secret jardin DR150.

Right now they are in day 27 of flower and you can see some yellowing going on and some of the deadhead leaves are starting to die. I was gone over the weekend and my roommate watered them late and said they were quite droopy when he finally did water. This leads me to believe the soil may have dried a little too much, killing most of the microbial life. Last night I treated with a compost tea that was brewed for 24hrs using the standard recipe on microbeorganics.com. I think they are looking better than when I gave them the tea about 12 hours ago but its a little to early to see anything major.

Please take a look at let me know what you think the issues are!

Topdress with 2-4 cups PURE EWC...or GOOD compost. Don't add anything else..give them a week. You don't have very long to go...but the effects from the topdress should pull you out of that premature yellowing..if that isn't a trait of the type of cannabis.

If the food source is depleted...why add an ACT to eat food that isn't there?....

Thanks for the quick reply Captain!

I figured that there was still food in the soil, just that it had gotten too dry so the microbes eating the food died out. The ACT was to replace those microbes not the food source itself.

I will try the topdress. I have a layer of pumice that has been acting as a mulch. Should I remove the mulch and then topdress or just put the topdress directly over the pumice?

They are in 3 gallon pots btw, I'm not sure if this matters.

If that is the case, the microbes most likely didn't die,but rather encapsulated or slowed the processes in the soil...in which case the topdress and ACT will be good enough...if there is indeed food in the soil. Droopy isn't horrible...it's when the tissue damage point is reached where there is loss. The soil still holds moisture even when a plant droops....

Remove the pumice...and gently work in to the top of the soil....sounds like you may only have room for a couple cups in each pot perhaps.?.?..

Yellowing of the flag leaves is a mobile element. No big deal if you are in mid to late flower. Just do what Capt. said and let it ride. Trying to do too much now will only cause more problems.

Make sure you water on time and don´t count on your room mate to do it.

Those plants are in smart pots right? I got caught letting a big pineapple get thirsty in a 7 gal at about week 4.. Things go downhill fast in the fabric pots whether it's because the micro-life is going dormant extra quick or what I'm not sure. Top-dressing ewc like Capt. said worked to halt the yellowing. It's really hard to over-water those, and adding trays if you havent already allows runoff to be wicked up later and even bottom watering..

Blumats solved my problems (no humans that forget to water) and adding less perlite\pumice, mulching with extra soil on top or poly if it's really dry... :canabis::watchplant:

Trays sound like a good idea.
When I put my smartpots out to flower, I put them in a trashcan full of grass clippings buried in the ground. Granted the weather here has been mild but I've only watered them once this month by wetting the grass and then only just for the hell of it. Sort of a modified solar well or just the moisture from the grass, I donno...

Update!

Here are some pictures of some fan leaves I removed. As you can see some discoloration is happening along with the yellowing.

My question to y'all, is if this looks like a deficiency or if it is a normal part of the plants senescence? I do know that this strain(Cali Connects Deadhead OG) can have some purple show in it.

Cheers!

Edit: Should have said that I did add 2 cups of EWC topdress.

Why don't you let one go and treat the rest with ewc ? So next grow you know what she likes a bit better .

Put a ring of DE around the stems as you mulch up to create a barrier. You can cut the top half of a plastic pot off to create a plant ring if you wish to mulch higher. Two inches should be enough room though.
If the buds are looking good, don't over stress on the leaf. I'm wondering if maybe they're just a bit rootbound at this point which could cause a variety of minor problems. With the lack of water they probably have some root die back with those associated problems.
I've gotten good bud with a lot worst looking leaf. Plants look good over all.
Just do what the Captain says.

and top-dressing ewc sometimes just halts the yellowing that has occurred since it seems the plant feels its not worth greening itself up anymore maybe because it's in flower..? anyway your buds look ok and i do think your fan leaves look a little greener.

Thanks for the replies everyone and yes they are in smart pots Sean, sorry I didn't respond sooner.

Captain- I won't add anything else. I'm just a bit nervous as this is my first go at farming nature's sweetest flower and I don't want to screw anything up too bad. The nugs are looking great though, the deadhead is starting to get nice and dense and the smell is getting more intense by the day.
