There is already a thread for this...

Let's see your frostiest bud!

I grow a lot of different plants.. Done Deep Chunk, The White, Green Goddess, C99, etc.. But one old schooler that can shine out a room next to anything is good ol' Afgooey. Man, no matter how good the next best thing is it seems like Afgooey will humble anything. It's not my cross or even my favorite smoke, but it never ceases to amaze me...

I think it will be very useful distinguish between frosty cut only strains wich use to be very heterozygous and non-stable line's and frosty line's, wich all the progeny shows crazy resin production.

Deep Chunk is frosty but I notice with it, and some other strains like "The White" the outer edges of the top bud leafs turn up and appear to be really frosty when viewed from far away but if you look closely alot of it is just the visual effects from the lighter color of the undersides of the leafs (which surely do have some frost on the edges) and if you look closely on the top of the DC leafs like the pics posted on this page the actual top of the bud leafs does not really have great trich coverage. I agree it's a frosty strain but Deep Chunk is not the frostiest by far and there are many frostier. I think it's a great heirloom strain though and like has been said many times before it's useful for outcrossing to overcome the low yields. I have seen some amazing hybrids of it like when paired with C99 for instance which is another equally frosty strain with nice solid yields. :good:

Sweet Tooth of course has white frosty buds and tons of white frosty leafs to go along with it on the top & bottom sides of the leafs along with stems in many cases. The hash yields are VERY high from Sweet Tooth it's one of the best hash plants there are and it's done in just 8 weeks of 12/12. I can't speak for other versions floating around but I can say with a very strong degree of certainty that all the females of the Swt #4 IBL will be very well coated in trich's when grown using healthy gardening techniques. I have yet to see one that is not super frosty out of all the grows posted. The one most noticeable constant is the high levels of trich coverage and that is afterall what they were bred for is the sugary sweet goodness & unique sweet aroma. :canabis:

Part of the problem of what's the most trichome covered strain is the fact that many of these "White" strains appear to produce copious amounts of trichomes which are in fact cystolith hairs.

It is difficult to be sure without a microscope or very good macro photography whether a plant is really covered in trichomes or cystolith hairs.

So be careful that what you are hoarding really is covered in resin and not just a hairy bud.
