cfl question

this may be a better question for the auto forum, but since its a micro set up I thought that I'd start here...
looking at cfls, and was thinking about running one of the following two scenarios within a double stack rubbermaid setup....
4x 42w (168w total) @5500k
or
7x 23w (171w total) @2700k

what say you, gurus? remember, this is an auto setup, and will run 20/4.
thanks in advance

if you only have those 2 choices, then id go for
4x 42w (168w total) @5500k up untill the 2nd week of flowering then go for the
7x 23w (171w total) @2700k
if those are plug&play sets then id prob go for
4x 42w (168w total) @5500k
but best to mix em up anyhow
bless

Spectral outputs of cfl bulbs according to my diy spectrometer.

If I remember right the 23-27 watt range cfls gives the most lumens per watt.

i am also thinking of installing 4 18 inch t5 fixtures @15w each. These would be installed vertically, 1 in each corner of the top rubbermaid, to help do two things: get extra light on the outside of the plants, and to use as "brackets to hold the top box in place. This would give me an extra 60 w and some added spectrum? yes? no?
what say ye again, gurus?

scratch everything above. I have a new question...I'm rethinking the ease of all this, and have decided that I should go with a 150 hps instead. My concern is overheating in the space (dimensions are 18"w, 24"l, 36"h, or 45x61x91cm). I know I will have to run vents in and all but should I also invest in a cooltube of cooling reflector set up?
thanks again

That amount of space for 150w hps is ample, I ran one inside a box 24x14x28 with a cool tube made of a pyrex bake-around-tube and had a successful grow with, I had very shitty ventilation though (4" hole in and 4" hole out) and temperatures were a bit high for my liking. I'd say do better than what I did and you should be fine since you have a decent amount of volume in there to work with already.
