Transplanting from Pots to Beds

Hey IC,

First off I just wanna thank everyone over the past week or so who has really helped me dive into the organic world. I just transplanted some vegged girls into my new soil bed which is now buzzing with microbial life (hopefully).

My original plan was to stagger my harvests by putting in 9 new ladies every 2 weeks but it suddenly occured to me that I'll have to essentially flip my girls the day of transplant as the flower room is always in flower.

Is this gonna be a problem? I know some people like to veg their girls in the beds after the transplant for a week or so just to break them into their new home but I guess I won't be able to do that. Do you think that will be a problem?

Ive never noticed any kind of shock after transplanting using coco. I dont think it would be a problem unless the medium drastically changes. Like hydro to dirt or something.
Its best to give them time to root into a new pot, they first two weeks of flower will have some root growth. But going into a bed is different. I doubt theres anything to be concerned about.

beds are hard to keep a perpetual schedule with.

one reason is this very point you've brought up.

to take full advantage of your bed, you want to establish a massive root system.

ideally you'd give your plants a couple weeks of veg after transplant into the bed.

also, don't forget to sprinkle some mycorrhizae inoculant on the roots when you transplant!

Aye, that's what I figured. Well I'll have to do this run and see how I do. I did sprinkle some myco in the holes before the ladies were Transplanted. I also have about 80 worms in the bed now too. There should be a magical orgy of microbes in there in a few weeks.

your plants should still be happy, they just won't reach the massiveness and yield that your bed has the potential for.

I came up with my own solution. I figured if they are getting over ferted it must be because there is more food available than it can deal with. So I flipped my bulb from 500w to 1kw and they seem to be dealing much better now. :D Normally I phase them into 1k over the course of a week but these ladies seemed like they were fine with it from day 1. Good to know.

That can't work. We're supposed to bicker over it a few days and go on to another topic. After trying the 10 or 20 solutions suggested, then you move on to the "Hey Dude" thread.
You got to follow the process.:blowbubbles:

My apologies. I've now dimmed my bulb down to 80w and they are looking really leaf-curly again. I'm considering transplanting them back into smart pots. What is the best way to go about this?

/sarcasm

Ps. I love you guys.

So Should I start the official IC Organic soil beds thread or is someone else going to do it?

Great job t33to, wait until you see what these beds do with some time on them!
