Nice combo!
That pretty much sums up the fight.
Condit landed a couple of spinning back fists also, besides the kicks to the face.

I'd like to see this one.

(MMA Weekly)... As far as what’s next for Koscheck, UFC President Dana White seemed open to the idea of pitting the former ‘Ultimate Fighter’ competitor against Nick Diaz next. For his part like any fight that’s offered to him, Koscheck is up for it.
“Yeah definitely why not. He’s a tough guy. It would be a good fight,” Koscheck said about Diaz.

White also said that he'd be willing for them to rematch before the GSP(Go Score Points) fight if both were willing.

Just some words from MMAFighting.COM,i know lots of people dont agree with the way Condit fought, but im just puttingthis here to show how the Judges are thinking when scoring a Fight and why the clear winner was Condit going by those criteria's..Judging by Nick Diaz’s reaction to his unanimous decision loss to Carlos Condit at UFC 143, you’d have thought he’d just been robbed on live TV. You’d have thought he’d returned home to find that judge Cecil Peoples had made off with all his most prized possessions, from his road bike to his Tupac CDs. You definitely wouldn’t have thought that he’d merely lost a close decision in a close fight, though that’s exactly what happened.

"I don't need this [expletive]," Diaz told Joe Rogan after the decision was announced. "He ran from me this whole fight. I landed the harder shots. He kicked me in the leg with little baby kicks."

Of course, he said this while sporting a set of facial bruises and lacerations that told a very different story. You don’t get that kind of damage at a track meet. Obviously Condit must have been doing something besides running and baby-kicking. According to the FightMetric stats, that something was out-working Diaz with strikes in four of the five rounds, landing a total of 159 strikes to Diaz’s 117.

Granted, stats don’t always tell the full story with an MMA bout. Condit did spend a considerable amount of time avoiding Diaz, or at least ducking out of the way and getting the fight back to the center of the cage. If you’re of the opinion that no fighter should ever win a decision while backpedaling -- even if he’s landing more strikes in the process --- then sure, you could cry foul over the decision. Just know that you’re using your own made-up criteria to judge the fight, not the one that matters.

According to the unified rules of MMA, judges score bouts based on "effective striking, effective grappling, control of the fighting area, effective aggressiveness and defense." Nowhere in there does it say you can’t back up or circle away. Nowhere does it say that you have to let a guy like Diaz walk you down and unload on you against the cage. Condit clearly didn’t want to get stuck with his back to the fence, where Diaz is most effective, so he continually brought the fight back to the center, where he was more effective.

In other words, Condit fought the smart fight. He also fought the slightly busier fight, at least according to the numbers. While it might have looked like Diaz was far more aggressive, if only because he walked forward in a straight line for most of the fight, Condit actually threw more strikes (329 to 258, according to Fight Metric) and landed more significant strikes (151 to 105). You can accuse him of running away if you want, but, like Diaz, you’d have to ignore the obvious evidence to the contrary, which plenty of fans are no doubt willing to do.

Maybe part of the problem here is expectations. Many people (Diaz included, perhaps) thought this was going to be a brawl. They expected to see two guys standing toe-to-toe, chopping away at each other until somebody fell. They didn’t get that fight, even though Diaz did his best to deliver it, and so they naturally blame the guy who decided to pursue a game plan rather than the guy who was unable to adjust to it.

So much for Condit being the clear winner. The judges screwed Diaz and a lot of pro's know it.

And that last line.....................tell you what folks as an ex fighter that " did not fight to finish fought to win" now there's some BULLSHIT , right there. The *object* is to win , did y'all forget that?

Yeah, whatever.

In martial arts, how you fight is more important than winning. True martial artists know this.

Condit is a point fighter, not a warrior. The Natural Born Trackstar......thats Condit.

Condit knew he punked on the real fight and retreated his ass off.........Thats the reason for his unusual absence at the post fight press conference.

Diaz is a warrior and thats something few fighters are.

Gonna attempt to lecture me on all the trad vs mma crap now? Won't do any good since *you* have missed the most pertinent and major point.

UFC isn't " martial arts" , it's not " self defense" , it descends from the " martial arts" and can be utilised as " self defense but the REALITY is that it's a SPORT that takes place in a cage and the object is to WIN , it matters not a whit how you fight , if you win you get more fights.

Diaz *may* be a " warrior" still , however the boy didn't much act like it afterwrds...........and if he is still a " Warrior" then he's one who needs to go read the Go Rin No Sho and absorb some fresh strategy.

A " warrior" would have said " whens the rematch" not " I quit".

And I must admit that I'm laughing heartily and your complaint as regards my comment about Diaz's utterance where he stated that he was basically coasting to win........then you snivel about Condit doing the same thing..............how richly ironic.

That post fight interview has caused me to lose respect for Nick. I did not watch the fight, am not going to opine on it.

but I did see the interview, and I will tell you that was not a man standing up there talking to Joe Rogan. It was a whiny child.

Yeah but what do those guys know? They're only seasoned, professional MMA fighters. Not like their knowledge base is equal to a skilled ex fighter like bluenote. Listen up when true experts like bluenote and retrogrow speak up. You might just learn something.

Then you were never a Diaz fan to begin with and he wouldn't give two shits what you think or whether you respected him. He wouldn't respect you either.

I'm not a Diaz "fan" but I hope he doesn't quit. I wanted to see what he could do with GSP's left jab pounding his face every 20 seconds.

Nick's a great fighter, one of the best. But absent a finish, it's all about points.

Diaz' face told the story afterwards. It was a mess from all the counter strikes and kicks. Nick fought a dumb fight. When he saw that he wasn't going to catch him in a stand up war, he should have taken the fight to the ground, but he didn't do it until desperation set in as he knew he needed a submission at that point. He waited too long, and took too many shots to his face. He did no damage to Condit.
And he showed he has no class after the fight with his cry baby antics.

I thought it was a great fight with Diaz taking 3 rounds.

I've been a fan and been actively watching since prior to Zuffa, this definitely wasn't one of the worst decisions I've seen made. But I still think Diaz took that fight.

He's not retiring though, I'd put a lot of money on that. If the rematch doesn't happen asap, then he will be fighting the winner of GSP/Condit.
