Hello to everybody. This is my first grow so im a kind a scared when something changes on plant :). Im growing one plant in 2.5gallon pot, soil mixed with perlite and vermiculite, waterd with water ph 6.0-6.5, fertilized first time a few days ago (i think 7 or 8 days ago with 1/4 mix). Well here is a problem, since i switched to 12/12 to lower leaves on plant started to yellow and drying, some of them just drying and curling.Temperature in box is 80ºF, humidity around 30-40% when light is on, when off temperature in box is around 70ºF and humidity around 50-60%. Light is 150W HPS.

Here are some pictures. Any help ,advice is appriciated.

So what do you think ,should i give them more food ?

No worries. It is normal for leafs that are shaded to turn yellow and fall at the beginning of flowering. If your upper, non-shaded growth, starts to fade, then it is time to up the feeding.

Cool nice SCROG set up. What are dimensions of the set up? The plants look pretty healthy I wouldn't worry too much about the yellow leaves at the bottom. Seems to happen when they are getting less light and the plant starts to ready itself to produce flowers.

Sorry man that's not true. Nitrogen is a mobile element meaning it moves from the older leaves to the growing shoots when in deficiency like you see here. If your new growth is yellowing it's another problem entirely, there's more to nutes than just under and over feeding. Healthy plants should keep all there leaves just like healthy people keep all their limbs. It's not as easy with plants but it's something to aim for.

Like Joe Fresh says it's a nitrogen deficiency just start feeding a little if you haven't already or up feed if you have.

If it were a vertical grow I would agree with you.

In general yellowing from the bottom up is a sign of nitrogen deficiency, but when all the light is coming from above the of the plants and the bottoms are completely shaded (like in krompir's mod scrog grow), the lower leafs will fade and fall, irrespective of now much nitrogen there is. I lose leafs this way in my own grows. If the plants are short and not much foliage is shaded I don't lose very much. On the other hand with very tall plants, I might lose 2/3 of the plants.

Some healthy plants where lower leafs dropped due to lack of light.

Looks like a N deficiency to me. You can see the yellowing starting at the tips of other fan leaves as the plant steals N from them to feed the top budsites. Get some N into her and she'll do fine.

DevilWeedSeeds box size is 2ft x 2.5ft x 4ft and screen size 1.5ft x 2ft. I will feed them, with some fertilizer i have . It says its for blooming and has NPK(Mg) ratio 4-7-7-(2).
Is this ok?
thnx for the answers.

btw in 10days ill put one more plant there going almost 12/12 from seed with her. She is seedling now ,2 days old under 23W CFL. Ill wait until next weekend then i will put here next to this one. I know yeild will be poor ,but thats how it turns out.

I see more than a simple nitrogen deficiency going on here. I see a problem with potassium and phosphorous, as evidenced by the necrotic leaf tips that die back in combination with reddened petioles. Something's out of whack if you've got issues with all three major elements.

The nutrient ratio doesn't say a thing about Ca, and you don't normally need Mg in absence of Ca. Most often Ca is what's lacking, and that needs to be laid down early on in growth so as to ensure there's sufficient Ca for finishing, as it's an immobile element.

SeaMaiden thnx for advice. Today i fertelized them second time in this grow and i added a half doze of this 4-7-7 fertilizer. What do you suggest for Ca add .Keep in mind is hard to get some real stuff Ca fertilizer at this moment.Thnx again

and sorry for bad english

You can use egg shells if nothing else is available at all.

IIRC, for cannabis you want two things--acidic or acid-loving type fertilizers, and a 1-2-3 RATIO of the NPK numbers. I'm positive about the acid conditions, and for soil you want it to be between 6.2-6.8, but I'm not 100% positive about that ratio.

Pinecone is right about the yellowing.
Any leaf that gets perma-shaded, especially if its old, will be discarded by the plant.
The plant over some time drains all the nutes inside that leaf and then all the juices too, and drops it.

You might have some other minor issues, but as for the yellowing it is normal imho.

Hi im back again :) Today is a day 7 into flowering. Two days ago i fertilized with 1/2 dose of fertilizer and next day i noticed some new grow is curled under( edges of new leaves are curled under). So i decided to wait day or two until soil drys then ill flush this baby. I added some eggshells to soil today for some calcium add.
Here are some pictures. Coments welcome.

In general you want to settle on something reasonable as far as a feeding schedule and try to keep your plants looking green and healthy. Right now they look pretty healthy. Why flush them? It seems like a reaction to a non-existent problem to me.

I added some eggshells to soil today for some calcium add.
Here are some pictures.

They take a really long time to break down and start supplying calcium - longer than your grow. The way to use them is to roast or burn them, soak in vinegar so that they partially dissolve, and then dilute the vinegar with water and apply. There are a couple of threads here about this method of producing calcium phosphate from calcium carbonate (eggs shells) around here.
