Pic of the veg area. On the left is a group of 9 plants of different strains, in 2ga smart pots of coco and perlite. They're about a foot or so tall, and i have height to veg them out to 3 feet but ill try to put them in the flowering area when they're 2ft or so...

Pic of the re-vegging ones. Starting to get some 5 finger leaves again, might be ready to take some clones in another week or so. One of those is Blockhead, from Philcuisine, this latest harvest of her were extremely sticky and frosty indica dom buds.

Maximo, do you check trichomes under a microscope in order to determine ripeness for harvest? I'm guessing you probably harvest at 50/50 cloudy/clear if u chop at 7 weeks. That is 7 weeks from onset of 12/12, not onset of budding, right?

That blueberry arcata train wreck sounds like some extreme medication, Jonny. I might put up with a hermie tendency if it has painkilling properties like that.

Nice earwax hash you have there, Lemon. What's that thing its wrapped around in the last pic? Looks almost like a dried chile...
You really have to click on the pic to appreciate how dense and packed full of crystals that bud looks like. Retardo must have got his name because he smokes himself retarded on strains like that...

Excellent looking purple on those buds, Marn, especially the querkle. Those look freshly harvested; does the purple remain after dry and cure?

Thanks for the tip, Jonny, I probably will take more clones this week. The white strawberry D and the blackberry banana kush, are those your own crosses?

Lemon, I'm using two 400w lights in hoods; one is a ceramic metal halide in an hps ballast, the other is an mh in an mh ballast. Ideally i would fit 5-6 plants in 2ga pots under each light for a month of veg before transferring them to the flower room, but you know how things go...

They purpled up quite nicely. Probably due to the cold nights. Those were freshly cut, they're almost dry now and have kept that color. They look great, can't wait to sample them.

Quick question for you since I see you use coco in smarties. I ran some 2 gal and 5 gal smartpot this round to compare and the bubba in the 2 gal yielded more than the one in the 5 gallon pot. I remember reading something like going above a 3 gal in coco doesn't really add much in terms of plant size and wanted to get you're opinion on it. Thinking about 5 2 gallons or 4 5 gallons next round and am wondering which to pick.

id stick w/ the 2gal if at all possible.

ive grown some trees in 2gal smart pots

i think 5gal would be good for a mother plant though

Yeah, i'm thinking it might be overkill especially considering I transplant into them rather late. I only have 2x2 ft to work with and 4 5's fit in there perfectly but if I can cram 5 2 gals in then that's what I think I'll do.

no baba, they are crosses made by a good friend... puma. he has some serios skills with the genetics!

i actually like running breeds from private grower, there are some treal treats out there to be had only by friends!

I've run coco in 2ga smart pots and 3 gallon plastic pots and I agree, unless you wanted to veg out a monster bush or tree, 5ga of coco would be overkill. Although I suppose if you wanted to not water as often and didn't have an auto watering system in place u should go for the bigger pot. My only complaint about the 2 ga smart pots is that because they're fabric they aren't as stable as a plastic pot, and my plants have a nasty tendency to fall over as they pack on bud weight unless i tie them up.
I transplant into 2 ga smart pots from beer cups of coco and veg them out for at least a month before flowering to build up the root mass some. Also not a bad idea to use some sort of surfactant, i use sm90 a few times during veg to make sure water penetrates evenly throughout the coco. Otherwise you tend to get root zones channeling water out of the sides of the pot later on if you handwater, ime.
If your canopy can only be 2x2 maybe just stick with 4 2ga smart pots? Your yield might be the same either way I'm thinking...

Jonny, i'd like to see some bud shots of that white straw deez. I was given a sample of strawberry diesel that had the biggest exterior trichs I've ever seen, and the bud stuck to the side of the baggie. The high wasn't mind-blowing but was very good, but the sticky-ickyness was its main appeal.
I agree, those unknown private breeders are doing some great work, I have two phenos of a purple sour diesel (a cross made by a private breeder) vegging out that may be my new favorite strain, based on the samples i was given to smoke...

lil~greensprout is groing out pumas strawberry diesel right now and is looking real nice for as early as it is. i opted to drop the white version for comparison. maj. pothead has grown out his strawberry diesel as well and loves it!

he could actually sell his ware, but opts to give it out instead!

@Marn, thanks for posting pics of the Bubba76, I've got one vegging right now and was real curious as to what they might look like. Lemme know how she smokes. Also, in regards to your question about smart pots. I'd stick with 2 gal, I've got 16 in 2ga smarties coco/soil mix as we speak and it's been a really fun grow. Think about how long your plant will be thriving in that pot months/gals after transplant. We grow 8-10 week plants which is 2 - 2.5 months I generally like to stick to 2 gal pots for this sake. I've also found as far as plant size/growth in smart pots, a 2 gal pot is about the same as a 3 or 4 gal plastic pot due to the amount of oxygen the roots can get through that wonderful fabric.

@johnnybgood You're a lucky man, i would love to grow out some private breeders strains, someday maybe i will get well enough aquainted with ya'll to share some varieties.

@bababooey I only hope that my plants get fat enough to tip over! lol

Grow big guys!

Puma sounds like a good man.

DG, fabric pots are great, can grow some really big plants with coco in fabric, the drawbacks to me are:
1. Tips over more easily than a plastic pot
2. Roots tend to grow into zones and when you hand water, the water tends to channel out of these zones and out of the pot (water will be poring out the sides of the pot). I think a good surfactant during veg will help prevent this.
3. Cleaning is more of a pain than with plastic, small roots still remain in the fabric even after washing the pots.

Nice buds, Farmdale. How quickly does that White Widow finish?
