If we all became blind for a year and our minds were erased about racism,then wonder if we would be any different in other ways,with colors and religion and a bunch of other things which made us different when we could see and understood the differences in religions etc or if we would all get along together.???

people who suffer brain damage relearn what they lost to brain damage using new parts of the brain

alcoholism and amphetamine abuse are chemically triggers that "hardwired" your neuro pathways into addictive behavior (as well as as some other biological responses)

It is hard not to be politically correct in an open forum so was just messing; although, the principles in the statement are true. The pleasure/pain centers of the brain release the exact same chemicals in response to stimulation ie. Meth, Alcohol, Caress from a bigoted parent, or being chased by a bunch of white/black children in your youth. Oh, and do you have any idea the relapse rate of "cured" addicts and alcoholics.... might have a look at it before you start using it as an example of change. Some get to a place where they do have a choice.....1-3% maybe.... the rest of us have to go out side our selves for the rest of our lives to look for a source of power to override what is no longer choice. That's stuff that started as an adult is some cases..... Think what happens when it starts when the brain is still morphing into shape.
The above is fact..... It is my humble opinion that certain survival traits are passed as the good book (notice no capitals) "unto the third and forth generation". Lay a baby on a glass table top and tell me where his sudden "fear response" comes from despite never have fallen. Another, example is the diving reflex.... Holding breath, drop in heart rate, and blood pressure from the brain.... hard wired as much as it gets.... Not an excuse to be prejudice but there is lots more going on in a human brain than higher thought. If it kept our genes going to be afraid of "others not exactly like us", we passed it on. Unfortunate, but look around us..... 95% of us live where others are what we know. Even in huge cities, people gravitate to wards others like them. Even when we are all alike, we find differences of faith, and politics to divide ourselves. I for one am glad it is changing but a Sativa doesn't become an Indica or humans stop being animals over a few or even thousands of breedings. Just saying there is more to that little bird flying than we are willing to admit......... or at least some of us.
Did you notice how many used terms such as cracker or white trash and yet no one jumped them but one person used ***** and it was PC to jump on that.... good example. Now we have a group of PC looking for differences in others.... and it goes on and on and on and on. I Europe they are mostly type of shade....... been finding other differences for centuries to kill each other. Prejudice is prejudice whether it is about race, religion, sexual orientation, cloths you wear, or the way you part your hair.
Most important part is what the OP has obviously done with his daughter..... teach the younger ones coming up and have them teach your grandchildren.

I think racism is a weakness people use as an excuse more than anything else. I think some use it as a way to vent their frustrations and failures in life...... Then again,,,,,, I could be wrong..... And some racist comments are made by mistake. I grew up in a East Coast Northern State. To be honest there were no blacks in my high school. When I went to college I referred to blacks as "negroes". One day not to far into the semester I noticed a couple blacks eyeing me like they wanted to hurt me. When I asked them what the problem was they informed me I wasn't going to be disrespecting them any longer. I had no idea what they were talking about. I told someone I knew what had happened and they explained to me Blacks didn't like being called negroes. I told them the next day I thought I was being polite. We were friends from that day forward and they would call me the "country white boy", lol....

academic education is relative. sure, you cant blame people for the mess they are born into, but their attitude and every action they take once in that position is theirs. thats not to say that the endgoal is simply "getting out" of that life, but their attitude. they are ABLE to CHOOSE if they are content, if they hate, or love.
we are all able to pick our favorite colors and many of us have the same favorite color regardless of socio-economic status. maybe for an individual in a gang environment might pick RED as his favorite color because all his homies are RED as well. when they hate on the BLUE, it's still their choice although they may have been born into the RED.

Every "excuse" that we may come up with as a crutch as to why things are the way are will become our "reality" simply because its a CONSCIOUS CHOICE. By also coming up with excuses, you inherently forgo said CHOICE (in your reality) because the excuse is the REALITY.
Thus, if you perceive that every action is a CONSCIOUS CHOICE, you also inherently gain the power to choose your own REALITY, your own OUTCOME.
Empower others in the same and we will rise as ONE.
