Nice! Haven't heard this til now. Mimosa is great, and a chill guy too

Always nice to hear good music is coming from good people. :)

So Excision's 100,000 watts tour dates just got released.
Bringing, you guessed it, 100,000 watts (peak) of sound with him to over 50 North American locations.
I personally found his last album a little too 4x4 dubstompy but fuck with 100,000 watts, I bet getting your chest knocked in never felt so good.

Heres the tours promo trailer on da tube:

skrillex, rusko, nero, and their ilk are not dubstep, they are brostep, and have soiled the name a legitimate genre. bunch of button pushers.

like someone said what they produce is closer to metal than real dubstep.

haters gonna hate. i've been into the "electronic" scene for years and the fucking teeny bopper douchebages these guys have attracted to it recently are a plague.

my hate is justified. poppy bullshit.

and now the neg rep. in this case i'll be proud of it.

no, but then i get the feeling you're calling me a dick somehow, which i kinda am.

not going to stay and debate what's real or not, cause i don't even really listen to dubstep.

seen plenty of shows, including skrillex and other brostep acts but the only dubstep show that ever "moved" me was joe nice.

edit: sorry man, thought you meant something else with the pauly walnut thing.

nah, gave him a quick listen on youtube and that is actually music, not just the same constant repeated womps, wobbles, and wurbles that make up a lot of the "dubstep" you hear on the radio today.

that's my gripe, a lot of this recent stuff is so derivative of itself that it all sounds like the same shit with just a few different samples thrown in each time.

womp womp wobble womp womp wobble repeat

but hey, if people just want to jump up and down and fist pump to the same really loud noises over and over again that is their prerogative.

but

that's for real man. Makes for easy mixing tho. DJ's don't have to play whole songs, just your favorite 30-90 seconds of it.

I am in a similar boat... mickey and billy turned me on to "space" in the early 90's... then the fat man died... figured, if these guys were into "electronic" music, maybe I could give it a shot. I've been listening to cats like ak1200 and Squarepusher since '96.

i think you cant write off rusko tho... him and caspa have that whole genre down. nero is a DnB dude tring to pull off dubstep... I like one of his tunes... "Act Like You Know" it's a real rinser, and blends well with other stubdep tunes.

did you just start showing up to electronic festivals and events in the past few years wearing neon plastic shit all over, sucking a pacifier like it's the 90's, eating waaaaay too much ecstacy and sweating all over others, incessantly trying to "mosh" like it's a death metal show, embracing a general attitude that being a snotty arrogant dick is the "in" thing, acting like you're a hardass hipsterish drug eating champ after buying your ticket with mom's credit card and then vomiting on my shoes?

No? then i wasn't talking about you. it's the 14-17 year old scenester punks that just latch on to whatever is hip at the moment that i called douchebags, not you.

If you genuinely like some of the shit i panned, great, music is subjective. Some of the stuff i like would probably get laughed at by many, i don't take offense when people criticize it.

did i call you out? not whatsoever in any interpretation of the english language.

did i state my opinion, yes.

i gotcha

i think you mean "drums" not space with mickey and billy. i enjoy some of rhythm devils stuff they did but i have to be honest i often skip over drums and space when i have a dead show playing. sacrilege i know. i even have been known to skip to about the 10 minute mark on dark stars. eek.

in fact much of my favorite dead was with just billy drumming.

love me some squarepusher.

my taste is very broad. but what i don't like i really don't like.

I hella feel you on not liking pop music, I can't stand any rap put out these days except e-40. That being said I like all the new poppy dubstep like skrillex and nero and can't stand the old shit, a lot of my friends feel the same way. I had a conversation the other day with a friend of mine about dubstep, I didn't even know he listened to it, He was like "my ex was trippin out that I listen to dubstep now, and wouldn't go to the shows with her back in the days. He told her that he wouldn't go cuz it sucked back then.
What I'm tryin to say is some people would never listen to dubstep if it weren't for the popular artists. Oh yeah strippers love skrillex and nero and I love strippers.
