And the company doesn't have a drug policy.

Now I am not saying they approve of drugs, I am just saying they never mentioned it whatsoever. What I do on my off time is my business.

We are professionals and most of my life I have not had to concern myself with a drug policy. Last couple of years it seemed to have crept in.

It is part time and not that much money (about $400 a week). But at least I am bringing something in, it is easy and fun, and getting away from the old lady. The money will be about double that amount in a month or two anyway.

Yahoo (knowing I can get high on my off time with no consequences)

Thanks everyone.

And it's cool. It's not like I work in a head shop or dispensary, but I can smoke. This company seemed pretty glad to get me for such crappy terms (low pay and part time). I don't think they feel they can ask much more, like making me take a drug test. I am pretty sure the owner is not a smoker. He is a Japanese American and a geek. He just seems to be concerned with the things that matter, like a good education and work history. Use to be that was all that mattered until the economy tanked. Once the economy hit bottom employers could ask anything they want because competition for jobs was so tight. Maybe this is a sign things are changing. I have been getting more offers this year than I did at this time last year.

Hope everyone gets a job that wants one and doesn't have to go through the degradation and control of drug screening. That really is a violation if you ask me. Not only your civil rights, but the rights of humanity. How dare ask someone to pee so they can see what you do in their off time.

This job of mine has been very cool. I get to deal with art, wine, people, travel and pretty much everything else I enjoy. I have never been so happy.

It was supposed to be $400 USD, 20 hours a week plus commission. I have not worked one week less than 45 hours. They said there were some emergencies to make me have to work more but my commissions were so good they want me there all the time. I have not made less than $1500 a week. I thought the economy was shot but there is a steady line of disposable income coming my way.

I am meeting a lot of people and a most of them are female or gay. My girl friend has been dropping by unexpected a lot. I think she wants to see me having a conversation with a pretty lady or something. That is my only worry with this job. She is bored too as we used to spend a lot of time together when I worked on my own. I hope I can find a way to keep myself employed and her happy at the same time. She is very high maintenance and I thought she would appreciate the money.
