Once I get the SCreme'n Dawg, Odessa, Highend, and OG Kush gathered up into a single pool....Chem D, Strawberry, Blueberry (B130), Rene, Casey Jones, OG, and C99....I'll be a happy speculator.

That is a pool well worth diving into.

Hell Hound & Odessa IX1 flowers look great, Pablos.

My Congo, Floating Genie and F13xA11 f2s sprouts are the same age. I've started my micro cab again. It's nice to have at least this surrogate of a garden in winter.
Congos are showing most vigour. No runts in the run (I thought there might be some from the F13 side). 100% germ rate on Retardos seeds and mine, Congo 3/5 -> I've got them in Barcelona a few years ago, hell knows how old...

I was at my friends the other week.
He's left the garbage from the hash run outside hanging in the bag -> tons of healthy sprouts coming out of it. I think this is the perfect way to germinate :D The way I'll go about it come spring. Just dispose of seeded and hashed plant matter on my plot. he he
The seeds are the F13xA11 f2s and some will go into his indoor set up, some will be given away to other hobbyists.
The finest mesh hash he made out of it shocked every single person who has seen it (in a positive way, for it's outrageous softness). Lovely taste and good high, but "impossible" to handle if not put into the fridge before - way to soft and sticky at room temp.
I was privy to some incognito praise for the Grapefruit during my visit too. The guy said he'd never smoke anything nicer.

PABLOS -> you're killing it. Looks like fun indeed. Good luck bro! Keep us posted on the teas please.

I was building my terraces at the experimental forest veggie garden and found the remnants of a boar. Just bones and hair. Now I know what was it, that stunk in the summer in the bushes. I've put it on the spot I intend for henbane and had a pretty creepy mushroom coming out of it and oozing black slime a week later. I like a bit of morbid decoration in the garden, some bone adornment on the bean poles :smoke: Gives it even more "stone age look". I've made an offering of roadkill pheasant on the big tree trunk. Hope that goes well with the spirits/foxes/buzzards/pixies. It was a lovely bird. I've stopped to pick up the long feathers and then found the rest of it.

Yeah man....I've been running amuck out on some trails. I'm feeling kind of spent. Really nice winter day..clear blue skies and 50 degree temps at elevation. Can run run run....

I've been thawing a bucket that has the Odessa and Hell Hound trim...from those harvest shots I showed. I'm hoping to get a few quick nets of hash out of it this evening. Still waiting...if that trim sickle doesn't get right here in the next couple hrs...I'll stick it outside and refreeze it overnight. My nets are ready...like a spider speculator.

Teas...you know...I plan to keep changing them with the seasons. I'll use nettle, mugwort, camomile, spearmint, peppermint, willow, oak, manzanita, white sage, blackberry....etc..all harvested locally.

I can tell you this: health wise my garden is the best it has ever been. I use both the Rosemary and Willow (added fresh branches yesterday) teas every day. I never mist straight water...it's always a tea. I add dashes of teas....and also flush teas through...daily.

I've organized a rotation for flushes and tea treatments. Every garden session....select plants are pulled to be flooded. I'm doing ALL my plants this way...veg and flower.

Flushing the way I do....I swear you can see the plants get excited...get a rush...after they have been flushed out with water and then tea...and then have their salts reloaded...sprayed down with tea...clean and high on themselves.

*Been feeding the sprouts I have going with teas as well.

**I believe..in my head anyway...using teas makes the uptake of salts a more pleasurable experience for the plants. Rosemary seems gentle and like a perfume. Willow seems to carry all those hormones and a strong aroma of aspirin. I find both useful as sprays and drenches...but you must go easy on the willow in a drench.

***I love the aroma aspect using these two teas. I love the way they smell. You can smell them as you use them....the Rosemary has a calming effect and the willow has a sterile effect. I'm finding less and less insect pest.

****I taste the teas to check strength

I'll never stop using herbal teas. I benefit by using them on myself...and now I believe that my plants shall benefit as well. It's not all about nutrients in tea uses. I have no interest in making traditional feed teas. That's not what my teas are about.

Bubble run

Bubble run

The last 4 plants I harvested were: an Odessa leaning Hell Hound, a more kush leaning Hell Hound, a Tropical Odessa, and a Trainwreck influenced Odessa.

This is what the bubble hash looks like from the combined trim harvest

120 micron net = little green twinge...bit of a sandy look to it. Bet it still melts though.

73 micron net = really nice mud...great blonde color...robust

25 micron net = primo catch....got probably the biggest yield out of this net....must be a bunch of sativa(ish) small glands coming off the Odessa and Hell Hound expressions.

It was a nice slushy when I ran it through the nets....one run...hand stirred....no ice added....premixed before it ever hit the nets...thawed once then refroze...hash taken on the 2nd thawing.

accidental pollination....

accidental pollination....

If you recall: I had a 1st batch Hell Hound let loose a male cluster in her 3rd or 4th week of flower. She lightly pollinated herself and lightly pollinated a DTC99 F4 that was directly beside her when the accident happened.

Here is the DTC99 at day 70 (left) and the offending Hell Hound at day 58 (right). Both plants are in deep flush...the DTC99 has been flushing since day 55 and the Hell Hound since day 43. Still going strong...flooded and sprayed down...they continue on

DTC99 flower

Hell Hound flower

Not an accident....I'll be partially pollinating both these Katsu Bubba X Ghost tomorrow for the IX1 generation. Here they are at day 22...the shorter plant is the plant that has the shim splitting her apart. Today they were flushed with straight water...then with Willow tea...then had their salts added back...sprayed down with Willow tea...

the "shim" flowers

her sister's flower

Compared to some of the Katsu Bubba X Ghost girls I have going...these 2 are rather modest. I think these expressions will be heavy resin producers...and are showing some variety in the cross...and that's all the excuse I need to progress them on with pollen. I have not found a plant I don't like in this cross....very nice plants

Cold winter rains

Cold winter rains

Harvested the remaining 1st batch Hell Hound....today....at day 63. She had a 20 day flush....and whereas she could have gone further...she had slowed down significantly..thus..I felt like harvesting...and so it was done.

This is a common expression. I have 2 more plants...younger....but just like her. With those 2...I have kept on the nutes to day 50...planning to push them longer than their sister (whose 20 day flush started on day 43).

Flowers are resinous/dense/tight...reeks a lot like bubblegum to me...sweet/funk. I look at these expressions as OG leaning. They are very nice plants. Fucking around with different finish times.

* Been smoking joints of the 1st harvested Hell Hounds...also some of the Odessa/Hell Hound hash...about all I want to smoke right now. Listening to the new Chili Pepper album...running in the rain. It's a good buzz for whatever...tastes like candy

i dont breed myself so i have always been curious. when you pollinate a couple lower nugs, about how many seeds, on average, do you get? are they all good enough seeds to germ?

very interested in this stage. i might be able to isolate a mail and begin "chuckin' pollen"

Depending on the size of the lower flowers....but you can expect from 10-50 beans. I pollinate entire branches....and that can produce hundreds.

If you pollinate a plant anywhere from 20-30 days old (long flowering types 30-50 days old) the seeds have plenty of time to ripen and will be quality beans.

Give it a try....the rewards are bountiful.

and the rest of the plant is smokable?
does this degrade the unseeded bud on the plant bc so much energy was directed creating the seedsq

Training Week....hills hills hills and Hell Hound

Training Week....hills hills hills and Hell Hound

As I don't run plants but one time...it would be hard to say how much energy an expression gives over to making seeds....when partially pollinated. Surely though...energy is diverted to that act. The quality of the sinse does not seem lacking to me...

Another argument could be made regarding extended flush and bean making. Does it affect the development of the seeds? I can only tell you: my seeds work for me....they germ and I get healthy plants.

Onward..........

The plants I'm showing today are on the verge of flush.

At day 43....the "premium" Hell Hound....partially pollinated to make the Fuck Show cross (Hell Hound X Katsu Bubba x Ghost OG)

I love everything about the premium expression (premium= on the pathway to my concept for the Hell Hound cross)....

I love that I could pick her out in veg via her solid structure

I love the bubblegum(ish) funky aroma

I love that she seems to be a favorable blend between both the OG Jam and the Odessa parents

I love that she is rapid fast to get going and looks to be fast to close out

I love that I used her to make Fuck Show

Here's her running mate...a week older at day 50...not pollinated

This girl rocks as well. Very Odessa leaning....but aroma has been altered to an overly sweet fruity candy. She reeks. Lots of flowers. I have no complaints about her expression....nope....no complaints at all.

*Growing the Hell Hound cross reminds me how much I love the smell of bubblegum in plant expressions. They are a very fun run of plants...you will see me stay in this vein...stay in this pool of expression....this kind of stuff works for me. I'm going to learn them...get them down....progress them into something else. It's already happening

CBF's Katsu Bubba X Ghost OG

Had 9 females and 3 males....reduced those #s to 6 females and 3 males.

They are staggered in flower from late 20s to early 40s. I'm showing my pick of the litter so far. Day 30...partially pollinated to make the next generation.

This is a burly girl. Blasting....very vigorous.....biggest of the sisters...very hungry...fun as hell to watch her go through her gear box. This one is hitting on all cylinders....high performance. Her flowers are like sunshine.

Starting flush phase

Starting flush phase

These 2 Bubba X Ghost sisters have been running together...days 45 and 42....kicked into flush this morning...sprayed down with willow tea. * Both plants have been partially pollinated for the next generation.

45 day old plant

42 day old plant

Plant expressions are similar. I have observed 2 different phenotypes in my population of 6 females....with a chance that there may well be....a 3rd expression....little early to say.

Nice plants....but not as nice as the expression I showed the other day. Hefty...healthy...happy...no problems...no questions...no concerns. Solid

Note: I've made a batch of White Sage/Rosemary tea....the combined aroma is very desirable. I also noted this blend of tea raises the PPMs....but couldn't tell you with what. The tea has been setting up for a couple days now....and was given to my newly flushing Hell Hounds to try out.

For whatever reason...it seems that one or more of the teas works to deter insect pests. My White Fly are not even a concern....the root aphids have either been heavily reduced or have gone away entirely. I'm not using any kind of commercial insect controls.

you know,i always wondered if you could make a tea from your trim, seems like a tea made of healthy pot plants would be the ideal food for them....or course that logic leads to solyent green so it may be flawed at some level

Expressions Not Targeted

Expressions Not Targeted

It is a matter of course. Not every plant I grow...from seeds that I've made...meets my vision for the concept of the cross. Especially true...when blending pollen.

The following Hell Hound plants are mirrors of each other....as well as...mirrors of OG Kush expression. Because of the fact...that I used blended OG Jam/Odessa pollen to make Hell Hound....and because of the fact...that I used beans from an OG Jam mom in this run: There are good odds that the plants shown are in actuality....OG Jam IX1s

Both flushing at day 53 (started flush day 51)....neither pollinated

There looks to be no Odessa in these girls. Flowers are tight...and not large...but...these plants actually yield well due to an abundance of flowers that hold their weight. Aromas are bubblegum(ish) sweet funk. Lots of resin....easy to grow...and I'm most sure that they will be awesome to smoke. Looks like OG Kush to me.

Do I complain that I found this expression in my run??? Are you kidding me?.....No!

I expected...roughly....by playing the percentages...that more than 1/2 the plants would be Kush leaners....if not through blended dominance...then by...the good chance that they would be the OG Jam IX1s.

No doubt about it...I'm looking for the "true" Hell Hounds as a priority....but I'm not snubbing OG Kush plants either. This is the game I play when using blended pollen.

My gamble is this: as I learn the plants...I'll be able to select my targets out in veg. That is not a goal....it is already a reality. Plants have habits....just have to pick up on them in the veg stages to be successful at finding what your looking for. 1st though....you must run them...just to get wet...in their pool. I now see the lines...next run I will carve this pool deep.

EDIT: My god! I love using these herbal teas. You should smell the plants after I've misted them and fed them with White Sage/Rosemary tea....so amazing are the aromas. Are they really working for me? On more than one level. Aromas are intoxicating to me....and seemingly...not to insect pests. The plants are being infused with herbal teas daily (exception in flush...about every 3rd day) in all phases.

I'm rolling into deeper water concerning teas....substituting/lessoning salts is constantly on my mind. How far can plants be pushed to thrive with less nonorganic salt and more herbal solutions? How does using herbal tea made from plants...harvested in my local area...aid plants raised in my local artificial indoor environment? Which teas curb insect populations? Does aroma therapy work on plants? Do the teas bring native vibrations from the outdoor environment to my indoor plants? Does using herbal teas help in the uptake of salts? Does using herbal teas help ease the stress of the death dance....help the plants transition through harvest?

There is science behind herbal teas...as I've said before...I'm not completely unfamiliar with their uses. But...as I also said before...I'm using them more by intuition/instinct.

Interesting bro... muy interesante.

I have this “Indian / Country borage”, Coleus amboinicus (or aromaticus)... and am amazed by the toughness of it. Cut a branch, put in a glass of water -> it will root in no time and stay alive - even grow - for countless weeks, even in deepest shade. Now I've read that apart from culinary use it is also used as medicine for a variety of problems...
My mother plant died by root rot. I stopped using it for my sauces and taking care of it at some point... the leaves didn't taste good any more... But now I have at least a dozen well rooted cuttings and I think I will see how it works as a tea for other plants. It must be good, judging by the magnitude of life force in it.

Growth in the cab accelerates. I've culled two weaklings / late to sprout ones. I found I have been keeping them all a bit too dry. Floating Genies seem to outgrow the Congos now. Very compact=short. The Congos start stretching. I have them on 12/12 from seed. 6 per a ca.12l plastic box. Two plants have shown their male sex today (Floating Genie and my F13xA11 f2).

As soon as weather permits I'll be ordering compost worms - Eisenia foetida. I need their help to process the huge amounts of horse shit in my forest garden. I'd like to use them at home too - turn my kitchen waste into gold :smoke:

Transition in the progressive perpetuals

Transition in the progressive perpetuals

With the flushing stages upon some of the Katsu Bubba X Ghost...and all of the remaining Hell Hounds....I'm reminded of micro seasons within the indoor artificialness. Some times I look back on batch runs in a time lapse sense....from sprout to flower..the hours of time spent...the selections made...the acts of good faith

Look at these Hell Hounds (showed them the other day)....now..a few days into flush....at days 54 and 47....stars.

They had White Sage/Rosemary tea infused into the coco....let sit for a couple hrs...then were flooded with RO water.....then infused with Willow tea....sprayed down.....fanned off....put back under HPS. *Experiments into herbal tea infusions during extended flush

These are the last batch of Katsu Bubba X Ghost at day 32. The middle plant is the girl with the wood shim splitting her down the middle....and she is the only sister pollinated out of this batch

.....brings the pathway to another switchback....or rather....a straight-up-the-gut transition. Switching out from some heavier Indica expressions....onto a path that should lead to Sativa expression

Blind Willy Chemical Haze= Blind Willy Haze X Chem DD IX1

Blind Willy Haze= Rez's Wonder Haze X *elebx1 x Chem Dbx2 IX1

* the elebx1 X Chem Dbx2 came from annac...but was inline pollinated by Dr Poison. I got the beans from Dr Poison in the IX1

I have a few of these....fun run...just having myself a look. The 2 have been in the flower studio for a few days....starting stretch. I don't believe either of these will lean to the Haze (though I have one in veg that will)....looking for some robust sour chemicals in these examples. Looks like there will be a struggle to keep them contained....vicious genetics (mostly Reservoir if you look at it) in these here bitches. I'm up for it.

Rosemary oil is an effective insecticide and fungicide. Works really well against the borg. Here's an interesting paper on the subject.
I'm watching with great interest as you explore teas - want to head the direction myself. Teas combined with sea minerals, kelp and rock dust.

Running and Gathering Herbs

Running and Gathering Herbs

As my trail runs take me to different locations/elevations....I am able to target different herbs for harvesting. It is not surprising what a couple 1000' of elevation does to a plant population. No...not surprising...but definitely interesting to observe.

After my run yesterday...I collected Cleveland's Sage. This Sage does not grow in abundance at my elevation. I do grow it....but it is not near as robust as the plants...at a lower elevation. I love the stuff. A very stunning plant to see in flower...the aroma as I run through patches...is not unlike skunky weed. It grows along side of White Sage.

* This batch of tea contains: Cleveland's Sage, Willow branches, Apple branches, Madrone, and stinging Nettle. I'll start using it in the next couple days. * Look at the bubbles created...I didn't stir this batch yet. The bucket is lidded and heated by veg lights....slow semi cold infusion is how I've been making the brew

The "Premium" expression Hell Hound has broken the 50 day flower mark by one day...so at day 51 (flushing since day 44).....most excellent plant...still. She is stacking her turrets....reeking her waft..the whole 9 yards....fun time. Hitting my goals with her. * Note the lack of larf. Larf is one structure trait that I continue to select away from.

The only Hell Hound pollinated by the Katsu Bubba X Ghost males...she is the one and only bean holder of Fuck Show. Here is that special flower....plump with beans

Another look at one of the Katsu Bubba X Ghost females....now at day 48 (flushing since day 42)....she's alright...alright and plump. Pushing her along....she'll be flushed free of her life. Fading smooth and steady. No hurry...no worry

In between weather systems...letting it warm up before hitting the hills. It's nice to have the time to train. I'm hitting it while I can
