dxco and everyone else i appreciate the info. heres some reasons why i would rather have a window ac right now
1. i cant put in a mini split cause someone would have to instal it for me and i cant do that in this apartment anyway cause i dont own the house
2. to make sure the smell doesnt get out. i know theres probably a way to bring in cold air without the smell getting out but im just sayin it incase
3. its alot of work to seal up the window with tarp and gorilla tape etc so its a huge hastle to take the ac out and put it back in again. also the ac is extremely heavy to move around when i have no help. it took me a while just to be able to balance it correctly while closing the window
4. in my opinion it looks less hot from a neighbors stand point. if neighbors see some sort of system that brings in cold air they might wonder whats going on. if an ac is on people could just think im running the fan or something. plus the ac is very quiet for its size so it doesnt feel hot. ive got alot of houses surrounding me
also in the winter the colder it is the shorter the amount of time the ac has to stay on. i was running it on the cool setting when i had the problem at a low temp and there was no need to have it on that setting cause the fan/ac was running constantly. now that i know to keep it on the energy saver setting im gonna keep it at a higher temp plus it will only stay on for like 5-10 min at a time so i dont think il have any more problems. guys i know i need a mini split but i cant get one until i get another grow location and i need to make sure i have it installed before i set up all the growing equipment
