Ready for this????The 2012 trend thread inspired me so to speak to make this thread. A trend I would like to see is breeders creating their OWN way to make their beans available to folks. For a reasonable price. NOT EVERYONE IS A COMMERCIAL GROWER!!Cut out the middleman, sorry Gypsy but you know.There are some out there who still go to the street to get meds because they think with the cost of seed,light,and all the other things that go with it its just soooo expensive. We actually need more breeders like .....well.... Female Seeds.They are in my book GREAT at what they offer.Why do some breeders feel the need to charge out the ass for stuff when there are silent breeders just laying low and sellin great gear for a much lower price???.The seed price has just gotten ridiculous. I used to have the thought...well I can grow as much as I want with the seeds I just paid $160 for. Well folks...thats where the problem lies.The greedy breeders KNOW that is what we think.We all know how many seeds you can get off of a healthy plant. Do the math in dollars. Breeders cry risk,like we take NO risk growin their seed?A seed is a seed,I create great strains all the time,example.....White Rhino purple pheno X with an awesome oger99 male. The outcome is just amazing!!! I am a nobody....call me a pollen chucker if you will. I tested this strain and the outcome is better than the original strains.I have around 900 seeds of this cross.Sooooo,lets say I sell them to ya for $60 for a 10 pack,well I would get around $5,400!!You see what i'm sayin??? Go ahead and let the neg fly,I really do not care.You guys and gals out there throwin pollen and testing the outcome are not unlike the folks you buy your seed from.Hype is not going to help our cause!!!

You get what you pay for.. Whats the point of complaining about the cost of a Cadillac when you can only afford a used Datsun anyway.

Even at $200 for a pack of seeds it does not seem like an outrageous price when looking at the total cost of a grow. And a person can get many quality genetics from seedbay for under $50. I personally really appreciate that there is someone like Gypsy willing to put his ass on the line to get beans out to people. You really want it to be that every breeder out there must have their own website and payment system? I would rather they spend that time in the garden. Do you think breeders should take on all the expense, work and risk to sell beans directly and they would not raise the price to cover those expenses?

Han....I think you missed the point,OR...i'm high and not presenting the message I wanted to send,I am saying you and I ...if you make crosses of things,are doing EXACTLY what the breeders are doing. They can SAY what they want about genetics and the painstaking process that they endure to sell you the strain.I am sure if you Han crossed 2 great plants and made seed,then did a test run of the seed you would see what I am saying.WE ALL ARE BUYING HAND CHUCKED BEANS!!! We only get the info that the breeder WANTS us to know.$$$$$$ seems to get in the way.

well im in process of a diesel and others seed run, i would like to place them at the bay/boo for anywhere between 25-50$ for 15 seeds. that would be the price i would want ppl to pay, i would take the loss of what ever gypsys cut would be.


the reason seeds are expensive is thesame reason gas is expensive, because if ppl are willingto pay then why lowe the prices, right?

I look at the bay and see a very wide range of seeds and prices. Some are as low as 19 dollars. If you invest in cheaper seeds at $19 and put in $100 that gives you 50 beans to get going with. Chances are your going to get something in that.

The seed business is going thru a boom right now..it will settle down..I don't think anyone has a problem w 50 dollar seeds...and there are PLENTY of good selections to be found in that price range..not just from seedmakers but breeders w experience...

I don't know what the right price is for a certain strain, but for any company to charge the same price for every strain they have to me is bs. I mean c'mon..every strain they have is equal to the next? Equal to whom? The guy willing to pay I suppose.
I can appreciate a breeder doing their thing..and they do give the regular guy the means to grow. It's just getting tougher all over and it sucks and I don't agree that you always get what you pay for. Years ago seeds were a bad thing..you know ..man it's all seeds, this shit sucks. Now seeds command big bucks..and I've seen strains crossed with UNKNOWN bagseed getting big dollars. You private breeders...the unknowns..members.. Why does it cost so much to fuck up? I see 5m x whatever???Look if you can't keep a fucking male out of your flower room..then why charge me? Fuck you.. just fuck you. Get some fucking morals. Stop fucking the little guy

---i get the point your trying to make..I have experience chucking pollen...and I have learned there are different levels of involvement w more dedicated breeders...while I find it ridiculous what SOME people charge for their work..I would have No problem paying couple hundred for seeds when that breeder has been doing their thing for a decade or three..
--and WE as consumers bear some of the responsibility here..it'd not like there aren't choices..and if you spend some time online you can pretty much figure out who the assclowns are..

If you dont like the price dont buy them, nobody is twisting your arm to pay a lot for seeds. There is plenty of seed available under $100 per pack. When customers will continually agree to pay a high price it will stay that way. Most likely only going to get worse with the world economy in the toilet.

I see a lot of good stuff under a hundo, getting up to $125+ for 10 seeds is pretty steep.

$100 for 5 fem seeds is highway robbery

So is the $200/10seed price tags we used to see quite often.

There is breeders and then there is breeders gotta buy smart.

Not entirely the breeders fault, 100% mark up for retail, but it's like that in every retail business.

Hey Maj..... I am glad to see ya, $200 for a pack is just insane!!!IT IS GREED!! BTW I am not speaking of the deals at the bay for $50.I am just pointing out the fact that making beans is EASY AND CHEAP!!!I am not goin to argue with anyone on the clear as day fact that ANYONE can make great crosses of other folks genetics. THEN they feel the need to get greedy???The original genetics ALWAYS come from somewhere else.I have great crosses that I have made, FROM OTHER PEOPLES GEAR!!! JUST like the stuff you and I spend big $$$ on.

think im growing 4-6 of there varieties right now....
