Cannabis Cups are bought so that newbies like you will buy their strains, pure and simple. Anyway, I don't need anyone telling me which strains to grow thank you very much. Most of the best strains aren't even entered into these cups anyway.

IC Mag 420 cups are certainly not bought and I stopped buying HT over 20 years ago as I already knew it was chock full of bs. I am not sure if the HTCC is bent, or just has a skewed voting system.

Once again, Arjan writes an open letter telling lies and you lap it up. Everyone knows the real truth about Shanti leaving with all the strains. Arjan is not a breeder and never has been. He runs coffee shops well but that's about it.

My second most disappointing strain...big bang....shoulda been named medium bang at best. But gotta give them kudos for Himalayan Gold and the quality of the high.

i see ppl complain about genetics and have to laugh because genetics are rude sometimes...for example i germinated a pack of aurora indica from nirvana ..one female was complete crap ...wouldnt flower correctly and never formed buds .. just small tiny leaf buds with massive sugary leaves around em..

I had this happen to one of my Aurora Indica seeds too. My only guess was I made some sort of light leak during its flowering cycle, making it reveg... but I was clueless really. Never had any other plant do that. It was especially disappointing because in vegging it grew wonderfully... looked very strong and healthy... I had high hopes for its flowering. I was/am a noob at growing though so I have no idea if it was the genetics or if I messed up somehow. (the rest of the seed pack were males, a few seeds that I failed to germ properly, and one okay female that grew nicely but yielded quite poorly)

what 1 man grows great, another screws up - jack herer! too err is human.

all marijuana plants have a built in survival trait if when in a field of 10 female plants; 1 or more will produce male pollen to carry on the line. i long veg and long flower outdoor and have seen this over and over. NOTHING to do with FEM seeds! if you haven't made fem seeds or done any breeding please STFU.

back on topic; the blackberry, strawberry pure and the hog were all dismal failures.

Whatever I'm not prepared to go round in circles. This is getting boring. As far as I'm concerned you can continue buying your Greenhouse Seeds and 'stand up' for the 'good people'. lol

Boy its really tough to see so many "good" strains getting the beat down. I know I have drowned a few seeds in my day and at first I thought it was the breeders fault. Also, I think its a fact that hermies can happen from bad growing(AKA LIGHT LEAK).

The general lack of agreement doesn't surprise me after all I don't think this crowd could agree on much. The whole Nirvana thing should be interesting, as I am getting hooked up with a few of their seeds to try. Also, I know its not cool to say, but I have had some success with GHS. That said, here are the worst strains:

Automatic Himalayan Blue Diesel- tastes like carrots

Automatic Onyx- better then the HBD, but the taste was not good (too be honest I think the autos are worthless basically)

GHS- THe Church- Got this for a friend. Out of 5 seeds 5 hermied. Mediocre finish. waste of time.

Power Plant- got these seeds years ago, and the bud was a placebo. looked alright, but no high.

Gravity- This was a clone gift. This plant has a wild strong lemon gas flavor, but for some reason I hated the taste. Otherwise I love those two flavors in a weed.

Hindu Kush- I grew this one out and it went until the snowfall. The bud didn't come close to finishing. It was covered in hairs, but they had no crystals on them. Worthless pot.


**I grew WW and TW from GHS from fem seeds I got recently. Both have been good plants. The TW is really lemon tropical flavor and is covered in crystals. The WW has a funky piss coffee smell, but my friend prefers it. A few years ago I grew lemon skunk OD and it preformed well, with a nice lemon smell after cure. Also, my friend grew SLH for at least a year, and it was the crowd favorite.

Nirvanas seeds are hit and miss because a lot of their strains are F2s and so stability can be an issue. This is okay if you expect it and take into consideration the low cost of the seeds. It has to be said they do have some F1s and some of their strains are good. I'm not surprised that some people have good and bad plants when growing out their strains.

I had this happen to my BlackJack I ordered from Nirvana, it was a very short plant with extremely close node spacing, about a quarter inch. I had it in flower for so long hoping it would just come along, converted it from soil to hydro, tried everything, and I just threw it out. It looked like it just sprouted pre-flowers everywhere.

That being said, i only ordered 1 pack of blackjack so the chance of getting a great pheno is rather small out of 10 seeds. I did find multiple keepers in their blue mystic and I also found 1 good keeper in the snow white so far (only sprouted a few beans).

Aurora indica; you realize of course that this strain was a failure to dutch passion as a NL hybrid and was only kept around to be used as a breeder strain. this was re-introduced back into the state of washington and BC because of the strong mold resistance and colder temperature survival rates. "just another hashplant" climatized for low northern latitutes.

i wanted to mention that with nirvana; there was once 3 different breeders using this name then there is gypsy nirvana as well. now other then gypsy there are 2. web addy's ending with shop dot com and dot nl. the jock horror i got from there was excellent and matched my own creation. i lost my seed grow and took the easy route to see if it was close. YUP! but then the new hybrid white castle was a dismal failure and the white widow was screwed in the process. this did not stop nirvana from selling all the test beans from themselves and other breeders = low price!

BOG Sour Bubble has been a major letdown so far.

I only got 3/10 to germ and grow past seedling and the lone female has hermied like a mofo. A few other folks are reporting similar results in BOG's forum. Lots of breeders are active in their forums but no word from BOG on any of the threads or pictures. I guess I expected more for my $100 seeds.

I haven't had a chance to smoke any yet so can't comment on that. I'm still hoping she'll be top notch based on other reports and I'm breeding her just in case but overall I'm disappointed. I won't be ordering any of his genetics again--too many other great breeders out there.

Update--I harvested last weekend and have only sampled a couple tiny buds but WOW! Awesome smell, taste and high! And the odor that lingers in the room is just beautiful.

And just as important, BOG has stayed true to his seed guarantee and taken very good care of me.

I also had poor germination and low yield and I posted those results in the BOG forum, but I should say that the one keeper I took from the BOG sour bubble batch has really performed much better in subsequent clone runs. Once I vegged it out a bit and grew it tall .... VERY nice, still relatively low yield, but not too bad, went purply/brown and put out a nice pile of strong, delicious smoke. props where props are due.

my beef is with greenhouse's SSH. better than mersh but was a serious blue-baller.

hmmm couple of recent disappointments were greenhouse super bud and kalashnecover ,,,,,,,,,,,, got a 10 pack of each were lots of hemp like resin free plants , the super bud had a beautifull smell but the bud structure was strange and not very appealing at all !

decent i suppose but the worse iv grown in a long time , on the flip side the bangi haze from the same run was steller one pheno was one of the most resin drenched iv grown

OK, I have been waiting quite some time to add this to the list.I KNOW that 10 seeds does not give a full representation of the strain. I did an open pollenation with the clones of all males and females and then collected the seed. Still not happy with the second go around. WTF!! OK here we go .....Dutchgrowns Lui x G13. I grew this and got nothing but HUGE catpiss smellin buds.They were HUGE......but I could not get rid of it.Sooooo, I thought well,try some beans from the over 500 I made. I popped 15 and.....well still not impressed. I did get a pheno that was not pissy,but still not special.I will say this, I grew out her Oger99 and was impressed, also my close friend says "that is some great weed" I agree. Also I ran her Killer Queen Redux and found a VERY nice pheno that has a very nice punch.So there you have it.

I'm changing my answer to Greenhouse Seeds Kalashnikova. Just hit day 48 and clearly noticed seeds popping. Chopped it, and found the bananas. The flowers get real fat, but weird looking and full of seeds.

thats 2 negatives for kalashnikova ! have found a few seeds so far to ........................... have to say the worst plants iv grown in a long time !

super bud is decent if only for that smell. really beautiful smell

type 1= body stone, mind still works
type 2=body stone, mind is a vegatable

sativa/indica mix
type1= hogg pogg mix up above usually ending up being a dull mental high with a good body buzz n not much else

there is no other weed folks, there is no ak48, there is no sage, there is no sourbubble sage ak48 cherry pheno etc. there is just 4 weeds, it amazes me what capitalism will do for ones perception of phenotypes that u think because they have a differant ''name'' that they are something new.

its really hard to get good seeds lets be honest, and even harder to find that special clone with personality, id guess that 90 percent of whats sold on most seedbanks is average bunk.
and dont feel bad if u bought trash, we all have.

in the last 6 seed orders ive had two plants come out absoutely outstanding , the kind of smoke that remeinds u why u fell in luv with m.j to begin with. the rest= just average smoke that decent mexi bagseed atlest if u live close to the border will blow away time n time again and i put that mexi against almost all the pot that has come from my connections as well 9 times out of ten.
