2012 Cannabis Trends

HIGH CBD stains will be a HUGE hit this year!!!

mark my words :)

I have chronic pain and just bought a sample of a high CBD strain called Harlequin. 11 % CBD and 1% THC. It was supposed to relieve pain without couch lock. It was worthless. No pain relief and it barely got us high. Clear high for sure, but no medical application.

Actually, most of the strains we've tried for pain, have been less effective than a hot bath , yoga and a good diet.

I think the kushes will still dominate. I brought a bunch of sativas to dispensaries last year and no one wanted to smoke them. Too fluffy, too weak of a smell. It was all fine weed, but for the consumer, they want tight ,dense buds that are very stinky. People like hybrids or total indicas, but they also don't want to pay much either.

Lots of shopping stoners are not sophisticated. They go for what they know. Kush.

I'm sticking with Cherry Pie for a while as people seem to love it.

I see more and more growers getting smart and running some of the amazing seeds bred by our own people here at IC...found in our very own server fund.

In 2012 I'll be exploring community genetics like....

Bluetooth (Phillthy)
Grom BX1 (Phillthy)
Plush (me :))
BKGK (Retardo)

:tiphat:

I LIKE this forecast. :) Paco's stuff is on my list.

I agree on the CBD...

Peace...Onward to a great 2012!

3rd that one. Have a feeling CBD will be making a larger presence this coming year.

THANKS for the honest opinion Red Swan. Unfortunately I've heard a couple similar reviews from other med users regarding high CBD. It seems relief found with CBD varies with each person & each syndrome/disorder.

Personally for 2012 I'm focusing on tightening up my selections, nothing but the top, TOP specimens and running a boat load of seed I've accumulated.

As for breeders, I'd love to see more landraces, working rare/older strains, and the projects from Chimera/Tom Hill..........assuming they're released in 2012.

Sats. I've turned some friends on to some and they have become instant converts...to a person. It's a matter of education and exposure. To be sure, there's much to be said for cannabis that pushes you against the couch with the force of several G's and that's the vast preponderance of what has been around for many, many years. On the other hand, now that sats are getting grown out, I'm finding that people have invariably prefered the high. And I have found some brilliant sats thatcan finish in 58-65 days so it's not even a matter of waiting 1/2 of one's life to harvest.

Landrace Iranians are going to put their stamp on the scene 2012....The next great Flavor and highest content of CBD ever will be found in these seeds...

Ive already found an 18% THC and 2% CBD ... it wasnt even one of the strains I thought was a Keeper... Flavors are just too dank to describe.. but they are alll over the place :)

The Kush/OG/Chem craze isn't going anywhere.. That's all people still want.. It'll be around for at least a couple more years..

NO OFFENSE, but i would seriously question the info from your sources source. Chances are you trust your source, and you can just call the lab who did the tests, which reported an 11% on this batch and find out for yourself!

However, the effects do vary be person.

Cherry Pie ---> Girl Scout Cookies! Mmmmmm Thin Mints!

Kcar, I get the feeling we are in the same area. Those 2 are what Im seeing float around here currently. Now that the guys who bred it have played it out and got their grit off it, both are being passed around like hot cakes. All the rage amongst the youngsters, most Ive seen don't know how to grow cannabis for shit though:moon: ....so Im predicting a whole lot of subpar GSC & CP this next year.:2cents:

I already know of a couple shit gardens that are going to be chock full of both.

The big demand around here is for something that allows the mind to be functional, yet plants you in a chair for a few hours and has the same effects as Viagra after a few hits.

I expect that trend to continue. :dance013:

People are looking for complete bud i.e smell, taste, tight structure, and strong effects. Most people seem to not know how to let stuff dry and think 7 weeks is an adequate flower time for every strain including sativas.
The big trend this year will be AAA bud DONE RIGHT and at a fair price. Don't see the kushes going anywhere because frankly whenever someone sees, smells, or tries some OG or Bubba or SR71 etc done right they fall in love.

that's not a sativa that's a hybrid. very rare to find a real sativa that will finish 9 and under.

Yes, yes...I understand. You are right, I didn't think this thread was about purity as much as it was about "trends." By way of explanation, I'm currently thinking of CBG's Mextiza which looks sativa, smells sativa, acts sativa and has the total sativa "high" profile at 58 days. I was planning on taking it longer (70 or so days) but a grower with much greater experience and knowledge of the strain advised me to take it early and he was right on the money. It's sweet spot is probably between 55 and 60 (or so days). But yes, I realize there was hybridization. I doubt, though, that few lucky enough to encounter it will be able to suss out the indica influence except in the growing period. But we digress...

OG Kush...nothing new.

I'm gonna be working on mixing the OG lines with pure sats and hazes...already in the works...

i doubt that's there gonna be any major trends suddenly changing..maybe some more hoarded cut will get out and hyped to high heavens in boards, maybe not. triangle kush?

there seems to be some interest in cbd-rich strains, especially in the medication-oriented circles but quessing that will need build-up for couple more years?
good ole sativas, landraces and more exotic strains are always making comebacks, but to be the biggest name in the market(s), doubt it, but if they get more recognition, always better.

maybe there'll be a big suprise?
sorry this is just random stoner rambling :D interesting topic anyways

Cannabis Suppositories will be the next big thing in 2012.
Plugging and bullets will enter the streetwise vernacular.
Tush Kush will be the must have elite.
It will be discovered in some old forgotten pack of TH Seeds Stinky Pinky.
Someone in the know will call bullshit and claim its from Mr Nice Shit.
Happy New Year!

No longer do you have to go to federal prison to have some Bubba in your rectum!

gotta got with swiss on this one. Hopfully the end consumer will become more educated to the real AAA top shelf bud. I just got done going through 7 different Ooriginal haze X skunk1, and people are freaked by it. "it look shitty and smells weird" of course it all changes after they try it but, it take that and an explanation of what and why.

The other thing will be ORGANICS!!!! I hope anyway. If your talking AAA top shelf then nothing will come close to a well done organic grow with a proper cure!!! maybe thats the next thing to Curing!!!! people need to get thaair heads in the game, the game aint over after you cut them down, it just goes into OT. Get a nice cure and it makes a huge difference.

Nothing is created everything is transformed but I hope to see a return to naturalness and to origins, through diversity of the landraces! :smoke:
