This sounds nice but is all fake and impossible.

California and its prop 19 set the stage for the country and world. No way other governors/officials/people are still on board. :D *end sarcasm*

:jump: GOOD NEWS!!! :jump: :plant grow: :smokeit:

Am I the only one that is concerned that it is being moved to Schedule II?

I have a feeling there are still going to be very strict penalties involved, even if it's rescheduled.

While this is "good news", I don't expect the DEA to change anything. After all, they are the most corrupt, dishonest, and worthless part of our government. They will lie cheat and steal as always because that's who they are. They care only about their own profit. They already know full well that cannabis is not harmful. They could care less. This is their meal ticket, and they will not relinquish it for any reason. They will continue to terrorize peaceful cannabis growers because it's easy money for them, and virtually risk free. Why go after dangerous criminals when you can lock up peaceful stoners and steal their stuff? The DEA is evil.
It is them who should be prohibited.

The DEA in my opinion are the scums of the Earth. Because of those good for nothing criminal thugs tens of thousands of people are suffering through chronic pain with no opiates because the DEA has terrorized doctors in to not prescribing the only medication that actually gives us pain relief and allows us to live 1/4th of a normal life.

They are also largely responsible for all of the people dieing of cancer and AIDs with no Cannabis for relief.

To put it simply, they do no give a fuck. If we're going to change this country we're going to have to attack this problem from the inside out. That means at least HALF of the country will have to pass medical cannabis bills, and we'll need high power Feds to back us up, because the DEA will NEVER give in until they are forced to by law.

Bunch of fucking rabid monkeys. They will raid a 85 year old cancer woman's house, shoot her dog in the head, laugh, then throw her in prison to rot and die. Then they will go home and throw a big 'hero' party with their fucking cuban cigars and whiskey. Let it be known, FUCK THE DEATH ENFORCEMENT AGENCY!

Reschedule cannabis ?? Yeah but not 2 or even level 3 would help. Look at what drugs are at level 2 now. I don't see any Coke shops on Ventura blvd. Just like you wouldn't see any MMJ shops if cannabis was placed on 2. 2 opens doors...but they lead to the FDA and all sorts of regulations. The movement needs a new theme...Judge Gray's "Regulate like Wine" is our best bet. Not only does it make sense to voters, it levels cannabis with booze...not coke like rescheduling would do.

Oh and one more thing....before we kiss these Governors asses...this whole thing is just a rouse...a way for them to look like there are supporting us...however knowing that it takes years to reschedule, when they are long gone. Instead trying to wash their hands of it, they should be standing up for the MMJ laws already on the books in their own states! That would be worth a lot more!

Yup, exactly what I was thinking too.

appeared to be good news at first, but most likely the DEA will just ignore or say no...and even a reschedule to II leaves room for prosecution of anybody who grows it..

this shit just feels hopeless sometimes, resigned to the fact that i might end up in jail over a plant! but mary needs to be spread, she makes us warriors in the fight against this, the more we grow and get out to the world the more people will be converted to see the sham of the drug war..

fuck leonhart, fuck cooley, haag the hag, and all the heads of the DEA past and present, puppets who hold huge positions of power but will not stand up for the people and what is right, but continue to lie and show ignorance in order to protect their federal grant money and profits...

almost everyone i know here in california is pro marijuana, even those who dont smoke it....there is huge support for states rights and medical cannabis. what is happening here is a slap in the face to voters.

these medical laws were passed by the majority! and the minority, the federal government, operating in an entirely different world than ours, swoops in to put non violent people in jail and tell us we cant decide what to put in our bodies!

fuckin ridiculous!! well back to the fight, all this transplanting and cloning doesnt do itself..

Governors, UN, even cops (LEAP), so why can't we overcome the pharmaceuticals and let the will of the people be realized already?

Instead it seems they know it will be legal soon so they are fighting it all the harder in one last ditch attempt to go down shooting, pathetic!

I agree completely. Surely they know the DEA's history with petitions to reschedule mj. So they can't really expect theirs to be the one that finally makes the DEA see the light.

Still, this is a win-win move on their part. Even if hell freezes over and mj is moved to schedule 2, so much the better. No more medical marijuana to deal with at the state level, and that's gotta be a relief for any politician. Rescheduling will do more to wipe out the medical marijuana industry than any DEA crackdown or interference from local politicians ever could. All of a sudden there would be clinical trials and FDA approval. Then Marinol, Sativex, and many more mj-based drugs to come will be manufactured by pharmaceutical companies and sold by pharmacies. So either way, they've passed the buck and made it someone else's problem.

On the other hand, this can only be a lose-lose situation for patients, caregivers, and others in the industry today.

Wow, another petition to the DEA to reschedule cannabis. Now I'm sure things are going to change. The DEA can't refute science and refuse such a reasonable request, now can they?

I'll check back in 8-10 years after the DEA has been sued and forced to respond to this one. I wonder if they'll just copy and paste from their previous responses to such petitions.

I think you hit the nail on the head. They won't even pay attention unless they are forced. The DEA must be disbanded if we want real freedom.

I agree with you for the most part, but the DEA. is not the only ones preventing people from getting opiates, patients families press for less opiates when they see Grandma messed up on opiates & maybe even died because of taking opiates, even though maybe it wasn't an accident that grandma died maybe she had enough of pain!!!!!

To the OP, thank you! Great relevant info.

good, put that maniacal federal monster back in its cage.

Well put...

Did anyone see the recent interview with N. Gingrich who said the answer was to INCREASE the war...on par with countries like thailand and singapore were his words. More penalties, prosecutions, and lengthier incarcerations was his main point.

I am not as good at linking articles as the OP I guess but I think it is even on the boards here at ICmag somewhere.

edit: heres the link to gingrich discussion: http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=226398&highlight=newt+gingrich
