Options besides Trays?

Use Coco of course, and last round had trays..I also use Grobags, cause I just like them period.

The issue is, I have some tall girls and with trays that may be out of the question. If I even raise the trays 8 inches..my girls will be to close for comfort under my 1kws. Leaving maybe 6 inches:comfort:

Question is...do I use Saucers under my Grobags for runoff? Feel like thats not a good idea. I am also in a Tent...so I dont think letting the run off just drain onto the bottom of tent is good either.

Any ideas would be nice. Topping is out of question..im trying some things out lol :jump:

Bricks on each corner of the trays laying flat. Prob is I cant find any sort of rez that would fit. I know someones got some clever stuff.

Thanks dudes:thank you:

Bigger bags with trays beneath will work. Just like a big hempy bucket. With the right nutes and a pulse timed dripper system there should be almost no runoff any way.

An option for tall plants is to train the plants to branch on one side of the plant only and grow them out in long narrow trays. Once they are as tall as the length of your tray, shave the cambium off the bare side, lay it down in the tray and bury it so each branch sticks up out of the medium like a single cola.

Hey Slimm, that last idea of yours is quite awesome, creative. With my # of girls I dont have that option.

With all my blabbing I distracted from the main question I think. And in meantime thought of another Q.

Can I use saucers/ with my grobags and will the run off fuck with them. I have always had trays of some sort, so this is new to meh.

I guess my other option is to run my trays rather low to the floor...maybe rig some type line to catch my run off and have it run outside of tent. Slimm, thanks for the input buddy.

I have limited head space and grow under 1ks on botanicare 4x4 trays.

My tables are only 8" off the floor. I keep the trays low to the ground, placed on concrete blocks on their sides.

I water with a pump and wand daily and catch the run off in a shallow storage container and dump that as it gets full.

how about deep saucers and bottom feed them

i considered that Stone, but as it stands..i have what im doing dialed to where im comfy with it, ya know what I mean?

Im considering that next round. Someone gave me a great link about it.

Caljim- Ugh..how tall is your room/ tent. I think im going to have to just find some sort of wide/low pan. Cause not even concrete blocks will do, more like standard bricks on their side. Hmmm I like the bottom feed. I just cant have mistakes or a large learning curve this round.

Thanks dudes:tiphat:

Just the guy I need MacGyver lol:dance013: Heres some gum, the wrapper and some string. Make me a slick something! jkjk

Going to probably go that direction Mac. I may ad some pvc elbows in the saucers as I have seen in other threads. And I hear you about the hard plastic, MUCH easier to lift. Bags can be sketchy picking up.

So, ya I think my only option at this point is saucers and dealing with taking the runoff out like you mentioned.

:tiphat:

Thanks dudes for some great idea's and insight.

Instead of making new thread, ill just ask here and hope some of ya'll can help me out.

First day of 2nd week into flower, my F'in problem child has now had another growth spurt, and I walked into the tent to find her press up against my light ( 6ft ) lol. This bitch will go into flower at 12inches next time. Anyhow can I top that lady and try and save the top? Or just chuck it. She has unreal growth and would like to keep THAT specific plant around.

To late to top? My gut says its okay, some risk, but theres nothing I can really do but chop her top

OR, can I just bend the main stem, as if I was supercropping or something?

I bend/brake main leader branches up to day 14 in flower. Thay may stall a day, and it may take an extra day to reach ripe, but yield is not phased! Don't top, brake or bend.

Elaborate please, if talking about my first issue. We are good there. But would still like to know that tech...i think i get it, but just want clarification that im not missing something here.

Ireply, i just went ahead and bent them as you mentioned, and they are already cruising, bending upward.
Thanks boss.:tiphat:
