I will go look at my supplies but try going to a concrete countertop forum or website and you can pretty quickly determine food grade finishes.

i've built fish holding tanks and ebb and flow tables with plywood and fiberglass. regular fiberglass resin.

i've built fish holding tanks from west system epoxy and system 3 epoxy. these are brand names.

i've coated ebb and flow tables with rhino liner.

none of these applications had any issues with toxicity.

if you are just making a lid for something you could roll it out with regular fiberglass resin. use a small amount of hardener to get a slow cure and let it air dry a few days then wash it with dish detergent and a brush. don't use finishing wax.

if i knew more about your application i could narrow it down for you.

hi guys, D9 u mentioned the rhino liner being non\toxic, do u think it would b ok to use to coat like say custom built trays in a DTW setup. Im thinking of using plywood or 1X6 to hold 2 gal smartpots of coco in kinda a vertical stadium setup. been thinking of ways to waterproof and elastomeric roof coating or something like the roll on bedliner would b easy to get. thanks and didnt mean to hijack :tiphat:

hey, shuswap! i had a closet that was a weird size. i think it was 57" x 35". nothing stock would fit so i built an ebb and flow table from plywood, installed fittings and took it to the rhino liner place and had the guy shoot a coat on it.

bulletproof! i used it in that app for 2 years, first for the e x f and then just as a containment tray in a small vegging area. i then gave it to my daughter who was grooming dogs to get through school. she used it for a few years and sold it in a yard sale. never did leak.

the bedliner places do plywood speaker boxes all the time so they are used to shooting on to plywood.

to save money you only need to do the inside with the liner. i painted the outside and bottom of mine with acrylic enamel.

good luck, d9
