Think how much cash you lose with a cheap pump that fails w/o you realizing it for 2 days. All of the sudden the good pumps don't seem so expensive.

Laguna pond pumps are high quality too.......very low wattage for the water they push.......they use Siccee pumps.........Italian made and they are the common choice of manufacturers who modify them to use on high end protein skimmers. You think us growers are anal about our equipment, we don't hold a candle to the saltwater coral guys. I've seen 100 gallon setups that have over 15k put into equipment ONLY!!!

This is not to pump the Nutrients to the table.. This is just to keep the nutrients in suspension IMO you dont need a 250$ pump to do that. I have a 40$ pump that works just fine..:2cents:

I forgot you just dont buy 1 lol..... I use a 1600gph in a 25g these pumps have a wide disbursement its not so strong.. This is why you cant use these to pump water any distance they dont have any head pressure.

Thats a sweet pump for a great price krunch nice score. I love the aim-able jet for the best possible stirring. That pump and a bait aerator turn them on for 10min or so before you flood and you are set. Keep alive areators are the bomb but you want to get the thru hull models work great on 100gallon tanks, but you say 27 gallons is all you have I'd run a mag drive to shoot juice down into your rez to fully aerate it. Just stirring will work fine but adding some extra DO just before flood makes it even better for the roots. Are you gravity draining or pumping out your nutrients...cant wait to see your setup man.

i'm confused i guess. how much circulation do you need in your rez? i ran a homemade e/f and simply used a sump pump and split the tube running to the tray to produce a waterfall effect adding DO while it was filling the tray 3x daily, along with small airpump/stone. isn't this enough?
