I am accustomed to rooting in Miracle Grow seedling mix, however I was wondering if any of you have experience with rooting seeds up in the Rapid Rooters, and what were your results? Any pics greatly appriciated

Seedlings are usually much heartier than cuttings, so it doesn't really matter how you start them. RR's are just a little more expensive and harder to find than the alternatives. Jiffy pucks are great for seeds, they're cheap, and you can find them at any Walmart. I use rapid rooters for cloning, since they hold a more ideal balance of moisture for rooting.

there fine.. at least I think there better then rockwool. the plug will defiantly degrade long before the rockwool

just know sometimes thee root does not penetrate the rooter, and just grows up out of the rooter, if that happens, just rip the plug and put the stem between the sides you just ripped..

Good advice habeeb. i just did this to my seedlings and worked fine. i also tried filling the holes with roots organic mix. Imo i think it worked better but boy was it bitch trying to take the plant out. The RR hold together much better and ease of transplanting is way easier.

5 gallon, all perlite Hempy for now, however I'll be testing a 5 gallon DWC also. As far as the seedling I'll just move the RR once I see roots into a 32oz mini hempy to let them establish a nice root zone.

I love rapid rooters esoecially for seeds. I pop them first then place them inside the rooters with the taproot inside the tiny hole at the bottom of the regular hole. Then I take a little piece of the corner and cover the seed hole. The roots absolutly will penetrate the rooters. I place them inside the netpots once the root comes out the bottom if not sooner.

I also roccomend soaking them in a root excelerator solution beforehand

I was reading on the GH site to use a 200ppm bloom formula, I'm going to use the Maxibloom. I'll post some pic's shortly...

The taproot will blow through the RR in a few days. I would plan accordingly.
Thank you for the heads up!

they'll be going in my water cloner next to let them develop a good set of roots under floro's for about a week or two. Then it will be quart hempy buckets. i'll put pics up as soon as the roots break through

Here in Spain they sell a version specifically for starting seeds, small transparent trays of 12 or 15 seed starter cubes, they work very well.

nirvana have started selling a really nice all in kit with a LED Propagator for E15 ! Amazing value and nice to see someone bringing the game along a bit.

The other Dutch guy whose name begins with S and rhymes with Annnie also sells similar sounding "Spongepots" i am looking forward to trying out these, may well buy the Nirvana E15 kit just to see how it goes, give it to a friend...

Years ago I put a Homegrown Fantaseeds haze/skunk seed in a foam cube, just above a NFT tray, the roots hit the film as soon as the exited the cube, still is the most explosive growth I have ever seen from a Cannabis plant. Something I have learned from Autos as well as clones, the seedling / rooting stage is utterly critical. Flowered small [clones, autos] it is everything, if you veg longer, you can cover up initial losses of vigour.

I'll post some pics, kept them a bit too moist had about a 70% germ rate. Next time I'll probably go with the oasis cubes, I really like the RR for cloning though.
