Legal Issues Surrounding Income in our Indusrty

Let me preface this by saying that this is not a conversation about laundering money. I'm sure that it's not only against the TOU, but also just a wholly bad idea.

What I am curious about is this:

Some of us here make a living doing what we do best, whether we are suppliers to medical patients, or living somewhere where the laws haven't yet caught up to reality.

We all know that if you choose to make your living this way, you need some sort of legitimate income associated with you in order to pay for your expenses such as housing, utilities etc.

Some things, like charitable donations are great investments. Helping out the community is always good, and donations are a tax write off, so you actually don't ever spend any money on them, and the government will send you a cheque come tax time.

I guess what I'm wondering is what are some other good investments you guys have come across?

that doesn't seem correct to me, but i might be missing something or u'r angle... u spend money on the donation with no return on that 'investment' except good will... and the gov just gives u a break on collecting more money on the donated monies, not give u a check in matching funds or something. but nice idea.

Naw. That used to be a good idea. But believe it or not, now the IRS has the casino workers, nigh club workers looking and reporting on people that bring in and spend large sums of cash. Seems that a lot of "gamers" were coming into town and cleaning up a bit of cash and the gubment decided, as they always do, they wanted to know who is doing what now. Fucking bastards are messing up a good thing yo!!

that sucks... when i was last down there they were tracking for the 10k per day in cashouts, but i could buy chips at the whim... been a bit though & that was all through the poker room cage, but they used to keep a box & would just store em there so long as i accessed it every couple of months. but then they got doyle, so that wasn't so safe anymore either...lol.

it's getting tougher & tougher... pretty soon no paper currency at all & everything dime has a record. :-( guess it's blood diamonds then.

They started that shit about 8 months to a year ago. If you are slinging around a lot of cash the Infernal Redistribution Shitheads wanta know it. Claimed they had people coming into town and partying big with drug profits. Imagine that!!!

The current climate of fear has guns and ammo of all types rapidly gaining value.

It's about 10 years too late to make a killing, but they are still appreciating daily.

And if our currency does collapse, they are worth more than anything else.

buying a storage locker or and estate lot or contents of a barn leaves the door wide open

those are great investments, even if you have to find something that was in there, :D

Shit lucky bastards. I barely got enough cash to pay bills, keep the lady happy and pay the electric bills, let alone have to worry about investing it or having to hide it!

Big ups rr, nothing like reading posts from a cat like you ending in yo!!

Here's the thing guys if your to lazy as I was for way to long to keep a job just to make expenses, in the long run it has a way of coming down around your ears. Women don't like to come home after a hard day at work to find a smoke filled house and a husband in there boxers on IC Mag. Work keeps one sharp, don't be so afraid of it. 1:ying:

Charitable donations are tax deductible. If you get a receipt for say a $300 dollar donation, let's say to DARE ;), you can deduct that from the taxes you remit. If your taxes are deducted from your paycheck, you get it back on your tax return.

Hello all,

I believe if you donate $300 then you can subtract $300 from your years taxable income.
