Help Prioritize My Skunk #1 Wishlist

the title says it all... skunk #1 has been on my list, but has moved up far enough now that i started looking around a little bit...

first, i had sensi on the my list and then added Dutch Passion.

then tonight i read up on Mr Nice Shit and The Flying Dutchman The Pure...

right now i am leaning towards The Pure as my first skunk #1 purchase...

what's your choice and why...?

Yeah its supposed to be sweet but lots of people say it's stinky too. Looks amazing. I'm gonna find out for myself, got a pack on the way.

DP Skunk #1 regulars hermied for me despite being in pretty ok conditions (other strains were fine). So something else.

i voted 4 the pure..bought a 10pk 5 yrs ago..got quite a few vommitious assy sweet smelling plants with gd frost..have like an f4 going now on a plat around run..still assy sweet nast to it..

the pure sucks, long flowering plants that dont smell skunky at all. TFD was taken over by Sensi a few years back, all went down hill then.

check out the pure thread in the tfd forum, its all junk.

Connoisseur Genetics Cheesedog. Original Exodus Cheese which is a Skunk1 pheno from 1989 crossed with chemdog gets my vote.

Had a similar goal 3yrs ago, trying to find something to breed with my Skunk#1 1989 Sativa pheno mother... needless to say, most Skunk#1 offered today is nothing like it used to be. Was VERY disappointed with the results found in the stock tested, never found anything worth breeding her to, luckily was able to get some more pure Skunk#1 1989 Sativa Seed and made some IBL beans.

The main thing that blew my mind is how can they sell seeds that are supposed to be Skunk#1 - A stable hybrid for many yrs - that contain a different pheno for every seed planted???????

THE PURE,, PURE CRAP!!! I dont like to slam seeds because a lot of the time it is the growers that mess things up but this PURE was more like a Sativa Mixed Pack, would have gotten better uniformity from brick bud bag seed! Flowering 70+ Days...

HGF Skunk#1,, decent large old skool Skunk#1, again full of phenos 65+ Days flowering and Late hermie issues.

DP Skunk#1 - Dont know what or how DP breeds their strains but they have the highest hermie problem have ever seen.

Sensi Seeds Skunk#1- The best of the lot but still 3 phenos from 10 seeds, this is your best bet to get something nice, tho they are more indica dominant type Skunk#1 with more compact buds and not that insane yields as the more ballanced Skunk#1 used to be. Flowering times are 55-65 days, depending on pheno. Some plants are pure Skunk piss smelling so be careful with odor control!

Mr.Nice Shit, Great Skunk#1, something different from all the others,, more a 50/50 hybrid but slightly indica dominant. Good uniformity. Smaller buds then others versions of Skunk#1,, but still very dense and yields OK. This is the one that gets my vote for todays Skunk#1 seed offerings. Fast flowering.

There is another option and would get my vote again, try Peak Sweet Skunk,, great Sativa Sweet Skunk seed line, vegges insanely fast tho, great for SCROG, flowering at 2-3weeks after germination is fine and will still enjoy 3ft heavy yielding plants. Flowering time 8-9 weeks.

The days of old giant Skunk#1 buds are kinda over, do have 2 of my own old skool Skunk#1 seed lines, should release them I know but other projects are coming first.

the shit is kicking ass in the poll now, the sweet skunk also sounds nice...

i'm kinda let down by what i am reading about the pure... seems a lot of people think the genetics have been messed with, while the other half still swear by it...

i still can't commit one way or the other, more research needed...

i remember the skunk #1 i got as a freebie from the 'boo back in the OG days.

word is a 20 sack of that was able to be sold for something like $80 at a bar. skunk red hairs.

blame the dutch for fucking the skunk up and breeding it to be sweeter.. some like it but the majority seem to want the old roadkill skunk these days... very hard to find.

You might want to check out the Cheese, which is a skunk #1 pheno. It's my favorite skunk.

That was Sam, as I understand it, who bred the line toward sweet phenos.

there has been a lot of hate for DP, but i like their "Euforia" which is a skunk selection.
grew it from fem. seed a few yrs ago and loved it - awesome high. grew it again from (commercial) clones recently - not as great but still very good.
