OFF-GRID GROWER

I got my first whif of off-grid life when I visited a close friends older brother in Wisco this summer where he lives and works for some non-profit peace-corp-ish group teaching ojibwe native americans progressive cultivation techniques. He lives in a 16x20 home on 6 acres of pristine woodlands with an awesome homebuilt sauna, huge outdoor garden lots of tomatoes corn and herbs *wink wink*, I could go on forever. Safe to say it was cool as fuck :rasta:

lol, seriously! One of our recent and beloved members was not lost, but gained to off-grid livin'. Can't wait to get there!

As a side thought, if this poor bro is still haulin water 1/2 mile up a snowy mountain, I thought I'd share my observation~ I would be hauling buckets of snow in to melt rather than haul from 1/2 mile away. I have the mind of someone who grew up with a sauna in my basement, cause I did.

I know it's an old thread and post, but people should look up RAM pumps. That's where it's at. Combine that with a catchment and you're set. If you're mechanically inclined you could look into putting an electric generating water turbine on the output of the RAM pump into the catchment.

Where there's a will there's a way.
