Happy Meals now ILLEGAL in San Francisco.......

Doesn't anyone else find it rather odd that some people who rail about their right to use cannabis and their freedom to put anything in their own body without interference are the first to jump on the legislative restrictions bandwagon for things they don't approve of ?
Ya know... kinda hypocritical.
The last time I looked, I didn't see a job listing for a 5 year old in the papers, so I can reasonably assume that parents are buying these Happy Meals. You want to tell people how to raise their kids now?
What is an acceptable Happy Meal ratio? Once a month? Bi-annually? Is a 2 cent chunk of plastic the deal-breaker?
Does Mcdonalds have a secret mind control ray that prevents parents from driving by instead of driving thru?
Santa Clara may have witless busybodies wasting time but that's Santa Clara's problem to deal with. I'm really surprised that those who want freedom for themselves but would deny it to others by cheerleading stupidity to be here at IC Mag.

S4L & Duplicate get it, but some of you folks need to do a bit of self examination of your inner fascist.
Your starting to worry me.

"Apparently people are stupid and are over feeding their children junk food"

"MAKE IT ILLEGAL!"

Something tells me someone wants us to be stupid.

In a city where just spanking your kid is considered abuse by many, parents must be finding difficulty in saying no to a constant nagging child. Never spank your kid, then you wonder why your teens are assholes, spoiled fools who don't understand a thing.

You can love em as long as you don't know how they make em...lol.

Mcnuggets are blended whole chickens, bones and all, splooged into nuggets...yum.
Bone meal...good for plants and humans too.
Any parent that would feed their kid that crap 2x a day would need a mental health evaluation for fitness, but a now and then happy meal ain't gonna kill a kid.

I'd be more concerned with video games. Make kids turn em off and go outside and play like we used to.
Burn things down and blow shit up...good old fashioned kid fun.

"It substitutes the county's judgment for the judgment of parents," Levy told the board. "It does nothing to address a holistic response to the problem."

Yes... yes it does. And which is exactly what is needed.

Why? Because parents are just too fucking stupid these days.

Anyone hear about that 200lbs Ohio boy removed from his family and put in foster care? What did his mother have to say about his obesity? This.

The mother of an obese 8-year-old Ohio boy is denying that she is to blame for her son's weight of more than 200 pounds, which officials cited as a reason for putting him into foster care.

The only reason McDonald's cares is because they stand to lose money. They could give a shit about public health (which they've demonstrated in the past). Last quarter their net income was up 9%. They've experienced profit growth for the past 9 quarters.

http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-505123_162-49043138/mcdonalds-stock-hits-record-high-on-global-growth/

And now the gov. wants to regulate them, potentially hurting sales? Yeah, they aren't going to like that too much.

I for one, am glad to see this come into effect. It's about time.

People this stupid only exist because they are supported by others who are not.

I say let them feed themselves garbage till they take themselves out, natural selection style. Why make something illegal to stop idiots from using it incorrectly or abusively if its only hurting themselves... the only exception I see is if they are forcing their child to eat garbage and the child actually doesn't want to be in the situation.

I will now quote one of my favorite movies:

"..I like to think, I like to read, I'm into freedom of speech and freedom of choice, I'm the kinda guy who likes to sit in a greasy spoon and wonder "GEE?" should I have the T bone steak or the jumbo rack of BBQ ribs with a side order of gravy fries?

I WANT HIGH CHOLESTEROL, I wanna eat bacon and butter and buckets of cheese OK? I wanna smoke cuban cigars the size of Cincinnati in the non smoking section, I wanna run through the streets naked with green jello all over my body reading playboy magazine;

WHY?! Because I suddenly might feel the need to OK pal?..."

^From Demolition Man, fucking awesome movie that really did hit the nail on the head if I do say so, especially now adays with many laws taking freedoms away. In the movie salt is illegal, because its bad for you hah.

But the point is people CHOOSE to eat what they want, we all die one day(Apparently) so who is to say the "healthiest food" according to you is not killing us in some way? You can eat healthy your entire life still die just MAYBE at an older age, your gonna dictate at what age we go now? Good luck because people drop like its hot(Die spontaneously:D)

^I understand taking out TOYS from the meals for sure

So don't eat there, I don't understand why you have to decide what others are doing, like you said you wouldn't eat there, so don't, if I wanna eat their till I shit blood WHY CAN I NOT DO THIS.... it started with taking away cannabis, now they are taking my double cheesburgers too!!!!

i understand your point but the fact is the kid meals are comprised of highly marketed products geared towards kids. Kids are not old enough to make the decisions you and i are about food, they go with what tastes good and mcd's spends millions to develop food that meets those wants and a package that delivers it

they just never took health into consideration

i think you guys are mistaken...i never ever said you shouldnt eat what you want...by all means enjoy your mc'd's

im just giving my humble opinion about the quality of the stuff they serve

If they are doing it to mcdonalds they need to do it to every company targeting kids with less then healthy products, AKA every thing every marketed towards children rofl. Like fixing some happy meals and crappy burgers that people chose to eat is going to reverse anything, when kids are eating candy that rots teeth faster then crack pipes and watching programing that rots brains, also faster then crack pipes.

I get that people see some good in this situation, but theres alot of BS in it too just sayin.

Sorry I thought you mentioned something about regulations coming down on the food quality at MC D's and you welcomed it

hey guys so you know there is a loop hole to this. They just charge a extra 10 cents if they want to get it along with the meal.

But do kids get in their cars, drive to Mickey D's, whip out their debit card and order themselves happy meals? Nah. You're right, they're not old enough to make these kinds of decisions yet.

So who should make these decisions? I don't think McDonald's needs to as they should be able to sell whatever they want. You can read all about what is in McDonald's food, it's not some secret. They put the nutrition info right on the outside of the box. I don't think the government should regulate how they market their product beyond false advertising and general stuff like that. I didn't read anything about Burger King having to do this. The government is trying to slow down McDonald's business per se which I don't think the government has any right or reason to do.

What ever happened to accountability? When did everything become someone else's fault? Do you really think that it's the cheap toy that causes parents to feed their kid inordinate amounts of McDonalds? I find it so hard to believe that people would stop going to McDonalds just because they stopped offering a toy with their happy meal. These are probably lazy parents who just fall back on this as a easy meal that they don't have to cook or clean up after (as a parent I've been guilty).

You know, as a parent you can even restrict your child's exposure to McDonald's evil marketing. Maybe since parents aren't willing to do that we should write laws telling parents how much television their kids are allowed to watch, right?

The government is people just like us. Why anyone feels that these people are more qualified to dictate how we live our lives and run our families, than us is beyond me. Protect me (from foreign powers), give me some infrastructure for my tax dollars and please, let me live my life eating some delicious ammonia laced meat slurry nuggets (with a toy).

^I assume the burger in the pic you linked is either fake BS or just exaggerated, I meen really whats stopping anyone from just taking two burgers takin a pic and saying they are 20 years apart lol

I remember in Super Size Me(Movie where guy eats mcdonalds for a month) he put fries in one closed container, and a burger in a closed container, and the buger molded and rotted, but the fries stayed the same lol.

They sell chicken sandwiches too and salads and stuff, WHY YOU TRYING TO TAKE MY DOUBLE FUCKING CHEESEBURGERS, THEY COST 99 CENTS BRO, thats why they aren't exactly "top notch" hahahah. Make a 99 cent burger that isnt complete crap and get back to me.
