:) had a good round of chili picking today - a whole shopping bag almost full. the bubba and the pi22088 (cgn22088) are still very productive and happy. lets see for how long they will keep so. the night temps are at the moment down at 9 - 10 ºC.

looks like im going to continue bagging up chillies for a few weeks more atleast. i dont even know how cold temps the bubbas and the pi 22088 can handle so i cant at all estimate how much more season i got..

peace!

My pepper plants saw temps just above freezing and weathered it just fine. Frost did get a couple of my Habanero pods really late in my season here but the plant held it's own against the first couple light freezes.

On my winter indoor grow so far I'm almost 100% germination with 2-3 sprouts in each of the 24 containers I started. :D

Super stoked about the Thai and Kung pao chilis, I chewed on a sliver of the dry Thai pod after I harvested the seeds from it. Got lit up quite nicely so those will work! :pimp3:

i have been drying my peppers in the oven for over a day now. they are almost there...

at which time, i will attempt to make a jalepeno chili powder. probably throw a little onion powder and garlic salt in the mix too...

Not sure what your humidity situation is there, but I just leave my peppers in a single layer in a bowl or tray on top of the fridge. Only takes a couple day's to a week to dehydrate them, and doesn't cost anything to boot!

I'm gonna grind up my last harvest of rainbow peppers so I can use em like red pepper flake with a kick.

no problem man... i like your idea of a 'pepper flake with a kick'. that is probably closer to what mine will turn out like...

i got some red jalepenos, green jalepenos and hot yellow banana peppers... should have some color...

i'll post up some pics when it's progressed further...

:) just planted the red rocotos for next year. 10 seeds and 5 left as back up if they dont germ well.

i decided to plant the baccatums and chinensis varieties in a month or so. since i have a long season im sure ill get enough chillies anyway. this year i planted the chili-seeds in april and the yeilds have been huge - so i propably dont have to exadgerate planting early.

anybody else planting rocotos for next year?

Corno di Toro Pepper - Capsicum annuum

My peppers for next year to go with Thai hot, Puya and Thai rat turd seeds that I save.
I'm trying a bunch of flavorful chinensis rather than hot, I been eating hot for 40 years or so and that's not a hard thing to find in chilis, but that freakingly good pungent, dank fruity full flavor is really what I like. So I want to see if the flavors are as good on the not so hot seasoning chilis.
Anybody here grown any of the above yet?

Bone, what can I use in place of "Dry sweet peppers"? That is the only ingredient that I can't find.

paprika powder - same thing..

or just skip it.

-- i have grown the cuerno di torro - and they are quite nice but didnt handle the heat here too well. anyway - really tasty and thick fleshed ones..

the bonda's look nice!

Thanks brotherman! :tiphat:

I'm gonna finally give that recipe you posted a shot! :D

Reading your Recipe, you used 32 peppers? All I have on hand for hots are about 20 or so frozen Habs, I figured I'd start light with about 10 of them and work from there.

I think I froze some Serranos too, but cant be sure until I go and dig thru the bags that I froze.
