TIMER NEVER SHUT OFF!!!!!!

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. The title says it all. I went to check on the dark period today jus to see what the temps were, and the lights were supposed to shut off at 8Am, and an noon they were still on!!!!!

I think I may have damaged the gear mechanism on my timer a few days ago when i moved the timer. I am not sure how long this has been going on, but it may have been for almost a week. Am i screwed? there are plants in there that are going to be chopped in three weeks, and others that are about two weeks into flowering.


I am going to get a new timer right now, and fix this issue. Do you guys think everything will be alright? I thought i saw a seed forming on one of my plants, and i guess this is the reason.


Oh man I almost had a heart attack!

What strain are you growing at the moment ?

I had a couple screw ups this last grow myself I went in about 5 minutes early and turned the overhead light on and left it on until the next cycle I messed with my timer as well and it stayed on 3 hrs to long before I realized it.

I was growing Green Crack and its highly stable and takes much to make it hermie so I lucked out.

its a strain I can mention because it isnt affiliated with Gypsy, but I am pretty sure they will be fine. Just fucking sucks.

you need a relay switch so the full wattage of the light isnt passing through the timer - it can make them burn out and stay on.

who says you can't mention strains not associated with gypsy? is that in the rules somewhere? everyone on this forum is breaking the rules.

i messed up my timer when a power outage lasted a few hours. took me...i dunno even how long to figure out that the timing was off by a couple hours. in the end i got a couple nanners here and there on a bud or two. nothing to panic about.

i talk about strains from non-ic affiliated seed companys all the time. It seems to be okay in the context of a grow,or maybe if you just don't use the breeder name, but less cool if you mention it in the thread title and make a big deal out of it. I don't remember what the TOU say, except that I know its okay to talk about other seed companys in the grow and strain reports...so, fwiw...

ok cool, thanks. i just had a thread shut down a couple months ago didnt want that to happen again. STrains are La WOman(martian mean green), and Sharskbreath(jamaican lambsbreadxgreat white shark). HAve been running both strains for two years, they have been great plants.

a day or 2 is nothing major, but over a week and plants can kick back into veg mode. if they dont herm the ones 2 weeks in should be ok, albeit they make take a little longer if they have gone back to veg and now need to get back to flower.

The one's 3 wks away from harvest may have a loss of yield maybe take longer too if they havent hermed.
You'll be able to tell how messed up they are if new shoots have started to grow out of the buds.

Do yourself a favor and get a Intermatic T Series timer. Don't have to worry about frying any relays or contacts and unless the trip levers are loose, they are as reliable as they come.

I will tell you what happened, took the timer apart and figured out. I moved my timer and ballasts out of my room, and in the process, I managed to grind a few of the teeth down on my Intermatic T-103. I stuck my screwdriver in there to loosen the screw attaching it to my power board, and it must have happened then.

Shouldn't your plants be sitting in darkness now building up an accumulation of flowering hormones? Taking photos just lengthens the time exposed to light.
