Fried turkey is great.

I do a Turkey in the oven, and one on my smoker.

Sucks S4L. I hope you enjoy a relaxing day by yourself. I will be up to my elbows in family, so I kind of envy you.

I usually get drooling stoned, and then start to drink large amounts of Cab.

when I Googled Georgies pie I got mostly fruit (peaches, apple, apricot) fillings; I prefer a chocolate filling as my mom always made a wicked chocolate cream pie w/homemade crust and plenty of real whipped cream on the side, the cinnamon sounds intriguing as well, I love cinnamon.......

Feel bad about your cancelled trip...hope you're feeling better real soon S4L.

Those of us who suffer from mind-bending nerve pain can really sympathize. I didn't think my anti-convulsants were doing squat for me...
Until I ran out last weekend because I had to double up on em.
I was not a happy camper.

Try to enjoy Thanksgiving Day the best you can and I hope you get a 'do over'.

Recipe...or it isn't real
ok Ill post the recipe..its a little time consuming just because there are a few layers.

2 eggs separated...pour 1/4 cp of water in the yolks.

1/2 tsp white vinegar
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cp sugar
1 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 tsp cinn
6 oz choc chips

beat the egg whites, vinegar, salt till stiff...gradually add sugar. Spread on pie crust then bake for 15 minutes at 325.[I have adjusted this part of the recipe cuz you dont need all the meringue, just use enough to cover the crust]
melt the choc chips over a dbl boiler..beat together yolks and water with the melted choc till smooth. spread half the choc over the meringue let cool.
whip the cream and add sugar.[you will need to just use enough to cover the pie, have to save some for the next layers] spread a layer of whipped cream over the choc. then add cinn to the remaining whipped cream and spread over the pie. . put the rest of the melted choc in the rest of the whipped cream and add to pie.
So you will have like 5 layers...the meringue, the choc, whipped cream. cinn whipped cream, then choc, cinn whipped cream.
Like I said I have treaked this recipe over the years...some come out better then others, pretty much like all recipes I guess :D
Hope you all enjoy it as much as my family has over the years.

Oh, baby! From a whisper to a scream! From a delectable intangible vision...to a tangible scrumptious potentiality! Do you think this would work with a graham cracker crust?

Thank you for taking the time to type out the recipe, Mrs B, you and yours have a most fantastic day too!

Sweet! That makes it much more doable for me...takes away half the work if I don't have to make the crust. I can just go out and buy a pre-made graham cracker crust. Woohoo!
