Quinoa. It needs rinsing prior to cooking because of the saponins.

Next year I hope to grow my own quinoa. I understand that it needs good soil fertility, but not much water.

Thermx70 is 20% saponins derived from yucca and about $100 a gallon

SaferGro Naural Wet is 10% saponins and about $11 a quart.

in comparison, the Natural Wet is cheaper and you can buy smaller amounts of it, but this is exactly the kind of thing i was looking for. thanx for you input.

Dizzlekush- while it is true that safer gronatural wet is cheaper, take a look at the application rate on both bottles. The safer gro label calls for 1/2 ounce per gallon for its application rate. The thermx70 calls for 8 ounces to 100 gallons...or 1/2 ounce every 6.25 gallons....making thermx 6.25 times as strong. The stuff absolutely rocks and is the standard wetting agent among the outdoor growers in my area. Hash

@Hash Man good point on the application rates. interesting... Thermx70 is 70% yucca extract, and application rates are 6.25x more concentrated then the SaferGro... but when it comes to amounts of saponins for your dollar, Natural Wet > Thermx70. its interesting that if following application rates the saponin content of Natural Wet = the aloe vera extract content of Thermx70, and the saponin content is about 75% weaker.

Dizzlekush, I am specifically here to learn and share the art of growing this magical herb. I would love to know the mathematics that led you to these conclusions... I only use the Thermx as a spreader/sticker, and the saponin content is an advantage but not my final goal. I am confused how natural wet can have mote saponins when its 10% saponin and. 5oz/g application and thermx is 20% saponin and .5oz for every 6. please help me understand this I would appreciate it greatly.

but when it comes to amounts of saponins for your dollar, Natural Wet > Thermx70.

Safergro Natural Wet is $11 or $44 a gallon for 10% saponins = or $44 for 12.8fl oz of saponins (and can be purchased at smaller quantities)
Thermx70 is $100 a gallon for 20% saponins= or $50 for 12.8fl oz of saponins

I am looking for saponins specifically, not wetting agents in general (hence title of thread). i already have 3 liters of polysorbate 20. and like i stated previously, SaferGro Natural Wet> Thermx70 when it comes to amount of saponins specifically for your $, as my math above shows. however you are right that when it comes to wetting agents in general the application rates of the Thermx70 make it a better buy than Natural Wet.

I went to my store today to see if the Natural Wet was in stock and the store owner gave me a free 4L of Advanced Nutrients Organic Wet Betty, which i think is probably just Thermx70 at 1/350 of the concentration, but hey, free shit. $90 retail value too :D gonna still go buy that Natural Wet and use it for my foliars and just use the Wet Betty in the res.
