What's new

Self's homemade rectangular smart pots.

Ive been using the re-usable grocery bags since my mom started buying them i would sneak one in the room and surprise her how well it airs the root zone. i can water more often and not over water while saving 5 bucks for each pot. oh and I've done side by side, no difference in the outcome if anything the cheaper ones are easier to clean out and if they rip they are super affordable and if your trying to be low key you can pick a few up with the groceries without every going to a hydro store.

good first post seedless.
I like the grocery bags too, but they're not quite the right shape for me (maybe if I rolled them down:chin:). I'm still using my homemade smart pots in one room, I love that I can customize the size and shape to fit in different trays or put the plant higher or lower. That said, in my other room I'm moving toward using 5 gallon square root brand bags in milk crates. The bags are really well constructed, but I like the rigidity of the milk crate so when I move them the soil doesn't get disturbed. I also like that a frame, be it fence or milk crate, holds the fabric off whatever is beneath it, preventing an anerobic zone and improving drainage. :good:

thanks self ive found a few stores carry odd shaped bags so rolling them down helps a bunch if need be. i can see how the rigidness of the frame would benefit especially in flower, ill look into rigging up a frame with something from around the garage. i really like your perpetual set up too, seems like your patients are well taken care of and on a regular basis which as a patient i have the upmost respect for.

I really had no idea how much satisfaction I would get from helping people as a caregiver, nor how much a difference the right herbs at the right time for the right person might make. I've spent the past year setting myself up to be able to provide at least 4, hopefully 6 strains to my patients at all times, ranging from sativa to indica, and everything in between (except ruderalis). Every time I hear from a patient about how well something is working for them, how they got a full nights sleep, or were able to get out of bed six hours earlier, or made it through a day of labor without dragging due to joint pain, or were just plain happy and laughing and smiling, I feel as though my life is of benefit to other people.
Thanks for the kudos!
