after the last 3 seasons of running between 15-20 strains i believe i have found some keepers to put up for quality cali outdoor....

purple diesel ( forms up very well, beautiful plant, low leaf/calyx ratio, main colas look like indoor)

la confidential ( frosty , white, tasty... gotta veg her a little extra to get the yield but dank none the less )

skywalker og ( one of my favorites for yield, bag appeal, first season running her but golfball nugs, some nice weight to her in the end, vegges like a champ , her looks are amazing )

hindu kush / and or crosses of her ( iv had hindu kush crosses in the garden for years... she yields well.... forms up great for bag appeal and doesnt have too many issues health wise )

818 og/sfv ( in years past she was a great strain... apparently does well in crosses as well :)

Sour diesel ( she has always done well for me in the past... sticky well formed herb

original diesel ( shes on my wish list! always was some of my favorite smoke for outdoors

anyways for the current situation in california, im quite happy with those strains for my personal preferences. happy growing :joint:

Yes - got your PM what would you suggest I replace the Cherry Pie with?

i'd only replace if you are trying to maximize yield. im still gonna do some CP next year, just not in 200s, maybe plant a bunch of them. shes mold resistant too i let them sit through 3 days of rain and they turned dark purple, no mold.. im leaning towards doing larger numbers of small plants next year in a seperate garden than my 200s...if you want the cherry pie smell and taste theres not much you can replace with, unless you got a nice purple durban around...even GDP doesnt smell as rank as the CP

Bullfrog - good to know..il pop those dieselrellas then. i also just popped a few Galadriel x Sour Bubble from black market seeds....and i grew out the KQR this year and it had nice yield but just not what im looking for, reminded me of green crack.

Dimebag - nice list..ive seen the purple diesel around too its always nice outdoor with bag appeal, big colas. i ran the 818/sfv outdoors this year as well...very nice smoke and good smell/taste but the colas were kind of small, and it was a bitch to trim. but definately some of my favorite smoke in the garden...i think im gonna keep the SFV indoors next year i want strains like LA and LVPK outdoors, ones that grow nice big colas and finish early...

i also want nugs that are more on the dense side...the fluffy stuff is hard to sell and bricks up to easily when sealed for storage...i ruined at least a QP of the SFV when it got squashed by a rubbermaid by accident, now im smoking some of the best looking cali brickpack available lol, LVPK and LA on the other hand are real dense and hold their form during sealing.

i also got access to a few laytonville strains like black lime (some kind of afghan kush cross), new wave (aka 3xkrazy, a triple cross of bubba, sour, gdp i believe)..and bubba diesel which is another stanky cross with lots of flavor, all can yield 5 in a 200 if done properly...

Bullfrog, thanks for your report on that. I was going to run a bunch of SQV next year outside but I think I'll just stick with 1-2 of them to see how they go if you had such mold issues...

We ran Alpha Diesel this year and had zero mold and fantastic results from it so that will go out again..

Also ran Sweettooth #3 for the 2nd year and a row, and zero mold on that as well.

when did your LA con come down prop215? been thinking about getting some indica in my garden next season and she's looking like my top pick.

last season my 707 Headbands and Purple Berry Diesel (Purple Doja x DJ Shorts Blueberry and the female from that crossed with Sour Diesel) we're the highest yields.

I had success with the SFV aswell, I try to grow mostly local strains (or California local strains).

I need to get my hands on some TomHill genetics asap...

Yes - well to be honest yield is kinda my thang...soooo I think I'll check that Purple Durban or maybe I'll just double up on the Allen Wrench going to check the Bay for more leads.

Thank you Yes I value your opinion immensly!

Smoked sum outdoor amnesia from the laytonville area heard the cut gave massive yeilds. I wish I knew what of kush I was smoking from that area it looks like sum cherry pie but not sure an the peep I know just call it kush and purple. Also had a friend that said white lightning didn't do to bad outdoors

Mold is a big issue in my neck of the woods. The best performer for me was unexpected it was a Sam's Mix seed. Only one from the pack I grew out. Nice balance of skunk/haze/citrus. Super dank and not a hint of mold. Cut her in late October cause of snow. I'm gonna search through my other pack and find another like her.

I'd also like some earlier finishing strains that also resist mold. Any suggestions?

Also, I'd like to do some autos early in the season. Prob something with diesel in it. Want to get the most out of 2012.

grew out a few different strains this past season up here in the northeast with mixed results

Anesthesia (pyramid seeds) - NL x black domina - got this as a freebie and it was the best plant of the season. about 1lb from a 50 gal container - grew huge and bushy. very good smoke. almost zero mold in a high humidity environment - would grow again outdoors.

OG Kush (res. privada) - one of the better plants of the season - grew out very bushy after i topped it a few times. not too much mold - yield was good, smoke is good. would grow again outdoors.

Green Poison - great strain, had a few different phenos - one of which was predominantly sativa and grew into a 15 foot xmas tree even after topped 3x. good yield, good smoke, a little mold...would grow again.

Maroc - very early strain which is why i selected it. yield was ok, smoke ok, and it still had a little mold probably due to a rainy stretch of weather before harvest. Prob wont run this again though.

Blue Cheese - short, stout, and bushy. looked great all season and then got destroyed by leaf spot in a few days time.

For next year id like to run LSD, SSSDH, OG Kush, Anesthesia, and somethin from esbe we'll see - still some time to figure it out.

Try some of Esbes Hybrids from Hell. Bred for growing at the northern latitudes. Very mold resistant and pretty early (late august - early october, depending on the strain)

Aww yeah! Yes215 is pumped up!
Reports are coming in for sure. The Purple Diesel this year was incredible in 200's with colas that you could play ball with and great purp/fuel funk. Chimera's ultimix was a bonus with two keeper plants, one BBxGF that packed weight and dark purple plant that smells like Bubba and hits hard could be Mental Floss. Ran seeds and clones both with about the same vigour. Tangerine from clone did really nice too in the yield dept. plus darkened up with some chilly nights. Honorable mention for head smoke was DJ's F-13 earthy and creamy smoke and so pretty in the field. Good info so far thanks everybody. NS

Ran 12 different strains...next years line up will be Blue Dream, Green Crack,707 Headband,Super Sour Flower (sour diesel crossed with super silver haze) was the winner thought didn't yield as much as the BD but came out lookin like some indoor, nice tight frosty buds, took after the ssh...GC was the runner up, then the Headband...all got passed as indoor......everything else came out good and frosty but these were the genetics that really performed !!! Was dissapointed in my sour diesels and sfv ogs...looked like it was gping to yield but jus didnt finish solid....

I'm gonna be growing more of my casey jones/sour bubble hybrid... Open pollinated the last two years in the bush around 40N and have tried to select aromatic plants with very good mold resistance. So there will be some pheno searching, and of course more beaners and a pollination plot :tiphat:

Gonna be at the bay sometime soon as freebies if anyone is interested... 12+, more like 16 per pack cause of the open pollination and inevitable variability

Documented in the CJ grow along

My Tangerine Dreams did really well both yield and buzz. Sensi Star also did well. Sour Bubble looks like something I need to try. Sour boggle sounds righteous also. i'm bound to find something else that tickles my fancy......still early and new strains are coming out.
