Sweet Tooth #3 "rogue batch" seed germination? 8 yrs old!

I graciously received a SWT3 freebie pack of 5 from the wonderful people/muppets at SeedBay!

Clarence has written these were a 'rogue batch' found recently in a drawer, from 8 years ago.

Any special germination/prep tips y'all recommend that are out of the ordinary?

I figure a good pre-soak is in order, but perhaps scuffing could help. I'd love to hear your thoughts, and also I wanted to brag that I got such a wonderful gift

ive got 4 out of 10 to sprout so far
a 24hr soak in water with a dash of seasol and then into paper towel
on a heat mate at 25-28c should see you with sprouts in 3 days

you should take a branch and pollinate it... When I have strains that old its a good idea to make some seeds.. You are not likely to find it again..

if i get a male seeds are a definate not sure how it will go though such small numbers to begin with time will tell fingers crossed

Scuff / scar slightly. Presoak w/ warming mat or on warm appliance (maybe 1/2 drop of superthrive)...

I prefer to plant right away vs paper towel germination - I like peat pellets, but to each their own.

Just 5? Damn that sucks, I got 10 with my last order from the boo. Bad ass freebies tho, after reading SOTF rave about this strain so much over the years I am really super eager to try them, I really hope they germ as they are 8 years old.

If you get them to germ and get a male and female I'd say try your hardest to make F2's because this is the last ditch effort to preserve this strain before it fades away as original SOL SWT3 is rare as fuck.

I am going to usher mine up to the top of my grow list and hope to have them going in a few months, I will be making many seeds

Yes, fellas, F2s will be made along with a few crosses - if possible. I don't like to count my chickens before they hatch

Ive also received a ten pack from the boo i put two to soak in rhizotonic for 24 hours ..i didnt scuff them but will if these dont push thru i will make all efforts to make F2s most definantly !!!

Thanks to SOTF's contagious enthusiasm, approx 2 months ago I finally popped one Sweet Tooth #3 seed (inspected from bulk) that I bought in 2008 from Seedbay.
I'm really glad to find out it's a girl.
I'll be making S1's at least.

I received some a little while ago also, I did not realize they were the originals from 8 years ago. I am going to attempt to run these next! I am not sure I have the room to breed, but if I get a male I will pollinate at least a branch!
