3x3 Tent advice needed

Hello guys and gals great site and this is my first post. I have never managed a complete grow with me as the only one in charge so I am kinda nervous.

Okay I will Start with what I have and what I plan on getting based on recommendations.

First off the room is a spare bedroom in which I will place the 3x3 hydro hut in. The room itself in a couple weeks will have a winter ambient temp in the low to mid 60's.

I will be using stand alone 5 gallon dwc buckets with Alita air discs and small air pumps for each buckets.

Basically all I have is the tent atm lol, but ordering will be done very soon.

I plan on putting in either a 400w or 600w switchable magnetic ballast. If I go 400w it will be just a HPS and will use a CMH for veg.

I plan on using 6 inch air cooled Hood and probably the Xtrasun because its cheapest. If anyone can tell me why I should buy a more expensive one besides the difference in the reflective material I would love to hear it.

6" Valuline fan and a can 33 filter with speed controller. This is a area I could really use some help in if anyone can educate me but this combo seemed to be pretty solid through the research I have done.

I plan on trying to use Philips Son-T Pia Green Power 600w HPS for flowering with maybe a reptile light for additional uv spectrum later in flowering. Input appreciated please :D

Now this is where I am also a little bit lost. How does one put fans in the tent? I would like one blowing over the canopy and one blowing just over the top of the buckets. I just don't see there being a enough room to get a fan on the ground.

Thanks for reading this and if you have any advice or tips or advice on products to help the tent run smoother I would love to hear it.

Thanks again everyone

Sounds like you have done your homework & have a pretty solid plan . the only comment i have is for the circulation fans , get the 6" clip on fans . they can clip to the corner poles & put pretty much anywhere you want them .

like dan said above, the clip-on 6"ers can be put pretty much wherever you like.. just remember the idea is to maximize air circulation.. sounds like you thought this one out pretty well! good luck and i look forward to seeing how it works out

Thanks bro I try to read and research as much as I can before I post to avoid wasting peoples time.

With the clip on fans the only way I can think of mounting is by hanging something from my supports and mounting it to that. Is that the right Idea?

Thanks again for the input.

I use a GrowLab GL80, which is of pretty similar dimensions. The way that I used to install mounts for the clip-on fans was to take lengths of 3/4" pvc pipe, and cut them to fit between the uprights that support the tent. On the ends of the pvc, I filed the pipe in a "cup" shape with a half-round file so that the pvc would wrap part way around the uprights. The pvc needs to be a little longer than the measurement between the uprights so that the portion at the bottom of the "cup" results in the correct length. I then drill a hole through each end for a ty-rap that cinches the pipe to the uprights. A final bit of insurance is to take a wrap of duct tape around the joint to keep it from slipping down.

Thank you bro, I plan on doing a small article on everything I am putting in the tent and a small check list for tent growers that might not have the time to research for themselves. Will upload here when I have everything together and working.

Well threads are not fun unless you have pics so here are a couple of the strain I will be using. Taken from my last run with a buddy last year.

if it's going to be as cold in the room as you say you won't need air-cooling. but I bet you'll need heat during lights off.

Thank you bro, Lets see if I remember correctly that run was not vegged very long. Maybe about 3 weeks and that was almost too long in buckets for this strain. I like to keep my plants as short as it will allow I hate wasting good light on lower buds.

That run was untouched because we wanted to see how the plant grew naturally for the next time but unfortunately there was no next time :(

I have to start from the same seed batch again its a bummer but no complaints here. I gave beans to 2 other buddies and they grew out very similar with a nice purple colors.

I would really like to scrog this grow but with individual buckets it puts me in a awkward position because I have to take the plants out of the buckets for to change nutes and check PH. I am trying to brainstorm a way to put a single scrog on top of each lid\netpot.

I will probly top once and then LST and tie the lady as much as I can , she stretches about maybe about 2.5x in flower. I plan on drilling a bunch eyelet type hooks on top of my lids to tie them down.

Anything else you wanna know or didn't answer just let me know be glad to help.

Yes I have thought about that and I wont really know how it goes down till its in motion.

My setup is for year round and in the summer shit might get a lil crazy because the room that did get down to low 60's has shitty insulation so it will be very hot in the summer months. I do plan on insulating and going to soil or coco in the summer I just dont think I can keep DWC cool enough without a chiller and I am not paying for one those bastards lol.

I will probably run some sort of portable heater in the room to keep ambient temps up during lights off.

I am willing to hear any suggestions or solutions if anyone has one.

Thanks for bringing it up bro.

Thanks

Sorry I missed this post, Thank you for the input and as soon as I am not so high I will try visualize what you are explaining. If you got a picture I would love to see it.

Thank you for the input and help I really appreciate it man.

I was puzzled by this at first too. Even the 6" clip on fans seemed to take up too much room. I ended up using the axial computer fans that are about 5 1/4" square and you can just hang them all around the perimeter from the top of the tent poles with rope ratchets. I have 7 in my 3x3 tent - 2 low, 2 mid, 2 across the tops and 1 shooting under the adjust a wing.
