Awesome grow man. Love the Peyote pics and smoke report, just ordered me a pack. I finished some Maple Leaf Indica and curious how yours went and smoke report if done.

harvest time.

harvest time.

Hola todos,
just got back from a little vacay in latin america. smoked a half ounce of some "jamaican", horribly cured as it always is down there, but seemed to provide a pretty strong head kick, so I brought some seeds back. :pirate:

meanwhile, my better half was in charge of the gardens...
on the positive side, nothing died, and there was lots of growth...
on the other hand, some of the plants got twice as much water as they should have, and others got none. and a fan went out somehow and never got turned back on. so... there was some wilting in one cab, and a little botrytis appeared in the flowering room.
so now I'm harvesting most of whats close to ready so I can clean out my flowering room before the budrot really becomes a problem.
here's what I pulled yesterday...
burmese kush...

aurora indica phenos

aurora indica phenos

these are two of three aurora indica phenos I grew out. The other is what I call the "bad afghani" pheno. very loose and open, lots of leaf.
unforutnately, it had a nice fruity smell. The two pictured, AI a and AI b, are both sort of acrid burnt rubber/coffee smelling. AI b is somewhere between AI a and AI c (bad afghani), great yielding, prone to bud rot, not the densest nugs.
AI a has those super dense, dry nugs, more like my burmese kush. also more icing on the AI a, making it my keeper unless bioassay says otherwise

anyone worked this strain before?

on another note... voles have entered my basement to escape the cold, and the little rat bastards have eaten all my under 6 inch plants. I'm now letting the cats have free range of the basement, and also plugged the hole into my cab, but the little fuckers killed my sweet tooth seedlings, my maple leaf indicas, peyote purple clones, a lemon skunk seedling, and a laughing buddha seedling.
I have one maple leaf indica female left, but they girdled the stock, so I may have to clone her to save her.
Carnage!
watch out if this is remotely possible in your situation. we're talking six inch tall, three week old plants totally disappeared to the stump.
wtf.

yep, voles, thanks ixnay.

Thanks for all the support! The peyote purple is awesome isnt it? Yields this round were pretty poor, about 10-14 grams per plant, but these were untopped and untrained. The nugs are rock hard, so I think with some topping and some lst you could make it yield reasonably well (like 1-2 oz)per plant dialed in in the same setup. I have one clone left of the most recently pictured peyote purple that I'll be working with. I still have 5 seeds left. I planted 5 and got 5 females, but one was a runt. the others were pretty uniform, besides some growing a little faster than others. If I lose what I have I'll plant those right away, this is a unique keeper in my opinion.

Holy shit... I shudder to think how upset I'd be if this happened to me! I am truly sorry to hear that this happened to you, and I hope the cats dine well and happily on the bastards that ate your plants!

Wow...

well, I guess I smile a little at it in the end. I spend half my career as a gardener and landscaper trying to keep deer out of or deterred from plants, and when I first saw this that was what it looked like to me! deer...
but in the end it just means I'll have to pop some of the beans I've been compulsively hoarding this year...
sweet tooth #4, super lemon haze, sssdh s1s, genius x deep chunk...
I'll be okay I think:cathug:
now kill kitty kill!

It's not the vole's fault, they're just looking for food..

It's not like they had evil intentions, just empty stomachs :D

wow...ya....10-14....pretty low

wow...ya....10-14....pretty low

I run a SOG....indoors....and the goal yield per plant is between 25-40 grams per plant....and suprisingly that is still pretty hard to hit.....depending on strain.

Bubba Kush..Black bubba OG...Kypronite OG kush.....Red Berry Kush....all are very low yielding strains.....but the quality is excellent......I have yet to find a good purple to work with...maybe the peyote.....it is????

on another note....

A vole is a small rodent resembling a mouse but with a stouter body, a shorter hairy tail, a slightly rounder head, smaller ears and eyes, and differently formed molars (high-crowned and with angular cusps instead of low-crowned and with rounded cusps). There are approximately 155 species of voles...........fricking.....155???????wow

 Hi self! nice garden you have. I had mice eat some of my last batch of seed starts, luckily not all. It does suck... nothing worse than looking in the tent expecting to see some plant growth and seeing only stems.

well, I'm pretty sure they were voles. I'll tell you for sure when I check my traps.
i know voles like to girdle the stalks of plants and trees, stripping off just the outer bark. mice might do this too, I'm just more familiar with voles doing it. voles have two long front teeth that look kind of like a beavers. they are bigger than mice too, fat, and much less cute. they may be coming up a drainage pipe. i'll be stuffing it with hardware cloth.
one a positive note,
one maple leaf indica survived, as well as one peyote purple clone.

plugged the hole...no sign of the voles for two days. hope thats the last of that!

i also hooked up blumats for the mini room, and tried to clean up any unproductive plants (lavender flowering forever). everything is still in need of a complete scrub down, but that might have to wait till the holidays as I have to crawl in there and take everything out first, which requires quite a bit of grow room yoga and I maxed out my back just trying to get the blumats in.
anyway, I'm trying to keep things a little less crowded and a little more uniform by strain, so I have 5 sweetest cindy's from clone, like this...
picture.php

and then I have three low growing white widows, two stretchy white widows, a black widow (also stretchy), two sage n sours, and a couple of random ladies (burmese kush mom)

the room...
picture.php

I think twelve plants is probably the max to try to fit around a vert 600, and then I've got the widows on the top shelf trying to soak up whatever rays from there. (see behind the sweet cindy)

white widow x3

sweetest cindy x 3 600w hps

stretchy widows,widows

kind of like that see?
enjoy!:tiphat:

I thought I would try to share some observations on the strains I'm keeping right now, as I've been thinking a lot about it lately, and learning so much.

Four of my five most impressive plants came from one pack of DGS select mix.
I have two of what I believe to be oger99, both are relatively short, maybe 100% stretch, main stems tend end up like sticks of spiral bud, other branches stay skinny and vine-y, flop around a lot.
One of the phenos has profuse small buds of large calyxs, totally encrusted with trichomes. It has a lemon candy smell, with a hint of powerful funk, and is very strong. I think it may be my strongest right now, and thats without a cure. It tastes like lemon on the inhale too. Confusion hits like a glass of lemonade to the face, bowls are forgotten after one or two puffs. I smoked a joint with a friend and thought I might have to go lie down, and I smoke 3-5 times a day. Good for pain, good for having bizarre conversations which start strong but trail off when both parties forget what they were talking about. I can't really recall what else happens when I smoke this...good stuff!
The other pheno has similar growth, but the buds are bigger, with more pistils, still copious trichomes, and no lemon smell. It smells more like creamy funky fruit. Banana might be a stretch, but its in the ballpark. This one is not quite as in your face, more of a relaxing creeper stone that settles into og bliss.
They both finish around 60 days.
