its only a keeper till you find your next keeper. i find my numbers of worthy plants lower more like 1%. . i am really picky tho. and i have bought from quite a few respected breeders.
Im with habeeb, I follow the DJ motto of the high itself being the most important thing to consider when selecting "keepers"
Ive tossed so many "keepers" be it clone or whole packs of seeds it silly. Gotta knock me off my feet to stick around this camp
Seed pack keepers...
Strawberry Diesel Reservoir Seeds (very berry pheno) - smelled like smuckers strawberry jelly with diesel fuel mixed in the jar lol
Blue Moonshine DJ Short - blue hashplant at its best, from the delta-9 collection
Grape Romulan x Grape Krush (retardo motabon) - i found a pheno that is very similar in smell and taste to the grom, with some of the GK in there to chill it out...cant wait to go thru some more of those
Roadkill Skunk - found a seed in the real deal RKS back in 97 or 98, tried to grow it out but was living at moms house lol, so it didnt work out.
Thats it for me...15 years poppin seeds and thaats the only true "keepers" Ive found myself, and I lost em all
Tom Hill's Deep Chunk should meet/exceed all you're criteria if you're doing these outdoors, indoors the yield will suffer but everything else is what you want. There's slight variation, very slight, but stellar phenos pop up every now and then, great hashplant too.
Can't really comment on anything else as it's either not available anymore, I never actually tried/grew it, or isn't just chocked full of keepers. I've had a few packs produce 1 or 2 desirable phenos per pack, but I have no problem growing from clone as I don't do much outdoor.
@subrob got a pack of HTC Skunk in the fridge, can't wait to give em a go
I tried to "up vote" your post but I can't do that anymore today (that is a really retarded function imo) but yeah, that GFxBB is something special indeed. I am growing out my first pack of that and I have found a keeper in there. There's pics in Chimera's forum if anybody wants to check it out
I had some bad luck recently out of 50 seeds from various diffrent breeders,i failed to find a single plant i wanted to keep.the hunt goes on and on...
The only strain I've grown like that was the original C99 from Brothers Grimm. Every female in the pack was outstanding. I'm getting close to harvest now with a couple packs of C99 F2's from Gypsy Nirvana. I haven't tested them yet, but I'm seeing a lot more variation compared to the originals. I don't mind, though, as long as I find one (or a few) plants as good as the originals. Uniformity would be nice, but that's not high up on my list for determining the quality of a strain.
I will have to mention Mandala's Satori in this thread.
Grow out those beans and you wont be dissapointed. Only a few variations in grow pattern, clones root within 2 weeks, roots grow like crazy and the yield is impressive. Not to mention the super aromatic sweet lemon smell and the potent, creative and uplifting high
