Glass Container Vs Metal Container

So for your cured nugs, it seems everyone agrees plastic is out. Static electricity binds trichomes to the plastic bag sides, and if using solid plastic containers, they seem to leech the aroma/terpenes out pretty fast imo.

Most people are a fan of glass. I am a fan of glass.

However, I recently bought some nugs that came in a metal container, looks like aluminum with a very tight lid that slides on. After 2 months, the mondo skunk nugs inside smell INSANE... almost like amplified. But probably just preserved, I dare say as good or better than glass. Could there be something to the metal conducting electricity differently, or heat transfer or something... pitch black must help... could that make metal the best container? Assuming no rust or no significant moisture.

Now that it's empty I'll put something stinky in my magic bin and compare it to a sealed glass jar in the dark for a couple months.

Metal is ok for short term, but glass rules for cure and storage, I'm talking more than a year.

I'm a fan of glass. They probably both do the same job if the are air tight. But let us know how your experiment goes.

I'll call Urban Salve, the dispensary that gave me this wonder metal container and find out what it's made of. Maybe the cold over the glass (assuming that's valid) acts like a mini fridge? A container with a pump top that burps it would i guess be best.

On a related note anyone try this 420 preserve spray? Weird eh? Looks really interesting.

I'll take ur word on it for long term - I think I'm mostly interested in mid-term personal stash here, under an ounce, ideally a few containers for different strains.

Someone should host a Container Competition for the world's best title - put one strain in like 10 different metal/glass containers, for like 2 months, then do a full thc/cbd/terpene test on each and see which scores the highest. We gots to know!

Metal is good for little bits, but most metal containers I have seen used in the past aren't quite as good.

What glass jars do you prefer? The screw on lids thare are 1 piece, the screw on lids that are 2 piece, or the glass top ones that have the rubber seal and metal clamp?

dont bother with that spray.

a dark place and a glass jar will do you fine.

IMVHO glass for my grass...

Metal is for headbanging - not for head stashing...

Vacuum-sealed in glass for mid to long term storage.
Tightvac (http://tightvac.com/) for short-term storage.

Best of luck!

Not a fan of plastic and I have two Tight Vac jars and both do not seal completely. My nugs were dust after a weekend.

I don'y know how metal could "amplify" the smell.

Seems to me smell comes when you shake the jar.
