Been cloning in this rubbermaid roughneck for over a year now and this shows up!.......WTF! is it? I have physan20'd this cloner 3 times for hours each time and this shit keeps coming back.....EVERY clone dies....

If you have a newer dishwasher and the rubbermaid will fit (try removing the top rack), put it in there with your pump and everything and run it through the heavy cycle. It will sterilize everything.

EDIT: Shit might not fit together right after that. I warned you so if it warps your stuff it aint my fault. I say this because I had some pvc manifolds that would fit tight after a spin in the dishwasher. But all my pumps come out fine. It all depends on the type of plastic.

What do the stems look like? Slimy?
the clones do fine for 2 weeks but than start to go down hill from there. the leaves get that black ring than stem tip gets brown and they die....no slime....i believe its time to build a new one with a new pump,pvc,sprayers....

give the spec of your method/s exactly, someone might spot something? success for a year & now this, mmmm? ive seen somthing similar, when ive used straight tap to root.

room temp 70-75
humidity 40-60
60w cfl about 5'-6' away
no light leaks in rubbermaid roughneck.....
The cloner did sit for a couple months not bein used so maybe the equipment is harboring nasties? And yes it was ran with physan20 for a few hours before reusing.....

i was thinking more in the cloner, i assumed you had the rest right? h2o2 n low ph'd ec nutes & i never see any bother in my bubblecloner(sterilized of course).
solution temps/ec/ph addys etc? how far away your cfl? " you mean? not '

give us a complete run-down of your cloning methods, i thought that may help? & how are the roots looking? is there much there?

give enough info & you'll get an answer, might even find your own.

just straight tap water nothin else.....never had a prob until now
cfl is 5 feet away
i cut clone from a VEGGING plant, (the pics provided are of a strain I was trying to save but you see the outcome....gone forever!), with sterile utensil, put it in a glass of water and trim leaves, then walk to cloner and insert clones....

looks like some rot going on. temps to high in the cloner?? past like 85 seems to give me problems.
that looks similar to high hummidty rot, no dome is needed..
clean the tub with bleach an water between every use, also split the opening of the puck an clean in there. make sure your knife or scissors are clean. make sure your gel never gets contaminated.

I also like, if possible, when your trim the cutting before its placed in the cloner, i like to make sure NO wounds from the trimming are placed inside the puck area. i find i get less chance of rot this way. either the wound should be above or below the puck, never inside. Also when i trim the cutting, i try to trim the node or branch leaf a little bit away from the main stem. leaving just a little knub. i sometimes find that that plant seems to heal the wound externally better. this way theres less chance of infection starting an being so close to the main stem, then infecting the whole stem an the cut is lost.

b-safe..

Toes.

mine look like that when I leave the lid on too long. they just rot from no fresh air... your not using a dome though, huh.

This looks to me like an air problem from looking at yr pics. There seems to be a chlorophyll deficiency in the yellowing leaves and its pattern is similar to the pattern with offgassing. Have you always grown in this particular location ? Have you fresh air coming in ?

I'd try low EC-ph'd nutes mate, the right solution temps & a lil H2o2 & get get back to me!

A complete run-down of your cloning methods i asked for(cloner based). water qaulity/solution temps, EC/PH etc etc. 5 feet away-60w cfl, na mate thats too far!??

Your not providing enough info of your exact methods! what do your roots/ or nubs look like, av you got any? roots/feed/clone-stem environment id say is where the issue lies, @ a guess!

Av you cloned this same clone in the exact same way before? like i said ive had similar issues not using any nutes before, just straight tap, give em nutes on the next run & boom i was away. very similar symptoms, if not exactly the same, turn yellow, middle sucks outta of them from the top shoots, wither n die, lack of nutrition i found with similar symptoms. was with harder to root clones using bubblecloner. other cuts not a bother with straight tap, although i found it better to have a little feed in there, i always use a nice mild NPK fert now, & id never do it different.

60w cfl '5 feet' away is a long way away! i wouldnt stand a 125w @ less than half of that!

@ this point, @ least you posted it in the infirmary.
