Quantities and amounts needed for making hash oil.

Does anyone know of an official document/research that has been made in quantities of bud needed to make hash oil,
How much bud is used to get 1 gram of hash oil?
From my expieriance I found that 100 grams of quality bud gives me 20 grams of hash oil, but I need som kind of offical reasearch information to verify this information.
I would be extremely appreciative and gratefull if you can direct me to such a source or document.

I was arrested last month and
I need to prove that I need an X amount of cannabis in order to make an X amount of hash oil.
I grow for medicianl purposes as
I use medicinal cannabis to help me with my symtoms from the side effects of the medications.

Much appreciated if you can help me.

With efficient extraction, you get close to the flower's %THC returned.

10% Weed gives 10g from 100g, 20% Weed gives 20g from 100g.... etc.

We get from about 17 to 22% BHO absolute oil return from most of our bud material, based on weight, using a 30 minute soak, with periodic flushes. Average is around 21.5%.

The actual percentage would be slightly higher before winterizing, but I have never weighed the dried filter afterwards, to know exactly how much weight it removes. I'm guessing no more than a percent or so, based on filter residue present.

I have heard of oil yields in the 25 to 30% range, but have never experienced it personally, with the strains that we typically process.

Yields above 15% also typically required a column repack, and multiple runs, when I used a simple flow through column and my total yield averaged around 18%, before winterizing.

I don't see where they would have much legitimate room to argue, if you used 20% as your estimate of average yield potential, for processes not done in heaven. Probably more folks get less than that, as opposed to more.

Rick Simpsons hemp oil method says use 2 lbs to get 60 grams I think. When I ran some Whiteberry for bho I got 17.5% the first run through. I used 26 or 27 grams through the tube. When I made hemp oil with ever clear I got roughly the same....4.5-5g~. But like the others said, depends on what tour starting with.

i make small batches for myself, some strains are just plain better for oil. i use about 7grams really dry i get about 1.5grams...after i butane the bud i save it up and grind it up, and do a qwiso on the left over and get a pretty ok dark brown hash oil but that stuff just puts me to sleep...

so sorry to hear the bad new Cannawinner, i would research in the local police departments of states with medical programs. there must be a few court cases with people who make oil with their bud. not sure how you can get this info, maybe with a researcher in one of those states. good luck getting proof for the amounts of oil you get from bud. in the worst case you should collect as many examples of oil yield numbers as you can.

It depends on which state you are in. There is precedence in Colorado, Rob Corry was the attorney, it basically said the same thing, that the guy was using plant matter for concentrates, so he needed more weight. The guy won the case... so look it up in Colorado cases, as that is the only court documented proof I know of.

Many thanks for this info.

hope the search for some reliable oil from bud yield numbers is going well. maybe the oil heads can chip in with their yield numbers when making oil from bud?

How would I found out this information? I looked through the Colorado courts, but could not find the exact cases.

Rob is one of my lawyers and is incredibly busy, if you're in Colorado, call and make an appointment with him, if he doesn't know you and you don't have a name referral, he can and does tend to blow ppl off, because I do know he is insanely busy and can't just answer legal questions all day for free. I believe it was in Arapahoe or Denver county, it was in the newspapers, look it up, you should find the guy's name who was arrested, went to trial and won with Rob Corry as his attny. It made pretty big news here, this was several years ago, about 2-5 years ago. As everyone knows with lawyers, nothing is free. Call and make an appointment for a consultation, he charges me 350 an hour..
