Got a lot of Keif, need advice

So I've been making oils and concentrates for the past 12 months or so, and have been getting quit good. So much so that all my friends have been offering my awesome material to work with! The other day a friend offered me 4lbs of nice keif, and wanted to see if I could blast it with butane to make into BHO. When I've done this before things got a little clogged up, and backed up. I was thinking about mixing it 50/50 with sugar leaf or popcorn bud to make the butane move through the tube easier.

Anyways would love any advice on this. I know it seems silly to process material that could easily be smoked, but the problem is we have a ton of it and no market for it.

are you at all interested in solvents such as acetone and isopropry alcohol? Seach for a thread called "Kif to Shatter"

i prefer the flavor of ethanol to iso....if using solvents other then butane.

as far as bho, i'd try a test with a small tube. seems to me, you may have hit on a solution. i would try to homogenize the material to ensure even penetration. with butane it is easy to force a path that does not penetrate all of the material.

do let us know how it works out and please weigh so we can have an idea on your return. if it works well, you could get a great return of really kick ass bho! i'll be watching!

why not use the coffee pot or thermos method to soak it in butane then filter?

why dont u clean up the "kif"

idk really what i mean when u say kif...

clean it up by0 resifting it thu some finere mesh or make oil like u alway do cant see the biggy here

roll some early harvested buds in the kif and enter them into the high times cup...worked for some in in the past..

Since you've already removed most of the green and waxes when you extracted the kif, you have a lot of latitude on process. I would either soak in ethanol or use a thermos with frozen material in chilled butane, but you could just as easily use iso, methanol, acetone, hexane, etc............
