Weird old plant i found chem d. Only ran her once, and she didnt like being on the same feed as the others, which was a prob as they are being fed from the same tank. Yielded well, but ended up not looking amazing at the end, leafs all fucked up and shit. Had that dank aroma i do like in weed though, so im having another pop, running her with 2 of my pot of gold cuttings, as they dont eat that much. Hopefully will improve this second run. If she is heat sensitive, she'lll be glad its now winter and freezing here so temps arent bad. Kind of weird plant chem d though, just dont know what to make of her. She has that funny leaf pattern thing going on, and for all intents and purposes should be shit, but there's somethijg dank in there for sure.

i don't have chemd but my chemdog ibl pheno's all handled heat just fine...my cab was in the low 90's most of the summer...i don't understand why any strain would have problems with heat...i mean it gets hotter than that in EVERY place pot grows wild! not to mention all these strains (chems/og's) have been grown outdoors with much success in california, where temps get over 100 all the time...as long as they have enough co2 and water i can't imagine why a plant would have heat issues.

well my chem ibl is no replacement for the real deal but on average mine took fairly low nutes, about half the strength i usually use with regular strains, they yeilded well, not huge, but pretty dang well for a plant this strong! the stretch was pretty average, smell was nonexistant untill the last few weeks, and it takes between 77 and 84 days to finish for me(i'm about 10 days from my next harvest, yay it's starting to reak!)they say the D has a tendency to hermie a bit if you don't do everything just right...i have not had this issue with my ibl's but many many have...

wow im glad a saw this thread cause i was under the impression that they were monster yielders that ate a huge amount of food. so you guys wouldnt consider this a cash cropper with a yield as big as sweet tooth or maybe blubonic or something like that?

thanks. makes sense to me. pictures can be deceiving so im gonna make sure from now on i do the proper research before i buy a strain. from the pics i saw of double strawberry diesel i thought it was a monster yielder but i just grew out 14 different females and the plants are finicky and dont have alot of vigor at all. i learned my lesson from that and i dont want to make the same mistake again.

I consider the chem as a good yielder, veg her a month or more and it does great, as far as plants handling the heat senior your part right, of course they handle it but for fat DENSE buds the lower temps make it so much better, if this wasent the case you wouldent see everybody running a/c units. just because they lived trough the high heat dont mean you got the best they could be

you must remember that a lot of it is in the grower, even the best can take a few runs before they get a strain dialed in perfectly. also trying many seeds and finding the best pheno's also helps a lot, the seed companies certainly use their best pheno's out of hundreds of plants for their pics, so not really much to go on...

ok i'm not saying your wrong, because i don't know for a fact any of the heat stuff, i have inferred from growing indoors and out, and a basic knowledge of the area's that pot originally evolved. the only thing i have EVER read about temps was that they grow the fastest at 86 degrees... but... if heat defines bud density why are most outdoor crops denser than indoor crops? again not arguing against you just curious, because my current run was done mostly in the summer/fall and had hotter temps than my past run in the winter/spring...even 2 weeks early my buds are denser this run, from the same mothers...i mean i am pretty sure it's because of my new 12/1 flowering schedule, but if heat makes fluffier buds i can't see it this round!

also you mentioned the ac's...i have always thought ac's were used so that they could seal off the growroom, and didn't have to vent the heat anywhere...i know this is basically splitting hairs but i assumed the purpose of them isn't necessarily to keep the buds dense but so that they didn't need to vent air anywhere...i mean the presence of an ac unit in a sealed room doesn't mean anything about the temps, since you could set it at 65 degrees or 95...as long as the temperature stays stable the ac is doing its job right?

i havent seen any outdoor that is as dense as what i grow inside and i see alot of outdoor from cali every year, and what you said about the ac temps just isent true, no one i know runs a ac and sets it at 95, even in a sealed rooms. most growers run ac without co2, even the ones i know that run co2 still keep there temps at 85 or lower, high heat makes fluffy buds

my chem d ibl was given a very hard time this time round between timers ,lumatek ballast not firing cause of hps bulb and my light staying on for 4 days straight at the end of 12/12 cause of timer meltdown i still am pleased ,very little smell after 3 weeks jared up but the hit she gives it unbelievable
