I was impressed with the first part. Lots of early info I didn't get growing up. I was lucky to dodge the Vietnam era. I had to register when I was 18 but a lull in international conflict spared me the draft.

I agree with the former UPI embed. All soldiers are part of the greatest generation, not just the WWII class.

that is what is so great about this documentary... so much work put into chronicling the events that took place throughout the war... each and every fight seems to be detailed with footage to back it up...

they even have footage from the VC's aspect which makes it even more entertaining.

there is so much footage out there, and this documentary seems to have put a lot of it together and made sense out of it... can't wait to watch it later....

the voice over's are done by:

Adrian Grenier as Barry Romo
Edward Burns as Joe Galloway
Kevin Connolly as Keith Connolly
Blair Underwood as Charles Brown
Tempestt Bledsoe as Elizabeth Allen
Jerry Ferrara as Raymond Torres
Zachary Levi as Karl Marlantes
James Marsden as Arthur Wiknik
Jennifer Love Hewitt as Anne Purcell
Glenn Howerton as Donald DeVore
Armie Hammer as Gary Benedetti
Dylan McDermott as Jim Anderson
Dean Cain as Bob Clewell

spices it up a lil more

I don't get history channel here in Northern Europe, but if i did, i'd be watching! Fascinating stuff to say the least.
Just saw a doc called "first kill" about 'nam, and it's the best doc i've seen in a while.

It's on youtube, but the quality could be better, still watchable if you're in to stuff like this.
