One last Veg post and then the flip. Loving the Coco at this point
growth over a 24 hr period is insane at times.

I neglected to mention I amended the soil with Gen Hydros Rare Earth.

Read the Coco forums in depth and made the switch after 6 years of growing in soil.

Mad Props to Crazy Composer and all the others that share the knowledge around here.

The last photo appears to have thrip damage on the leaves, is what I think he is saying is all. They arent the end of the world bug, but quite annoying and does those types of things on leaves, can be a pain though.

Looking at the photo is hard to judge though. If you look closely you may be able to see little black balls, which is their shit..i think.

I don't think so, that plant has had that variegation on the leaves from seedling, all new growth has it as it emerges. I have scoped those leaves and there are no bugs, eggs or droppings on top or beneath.

I do have the start of fungus gnats and I think i saw a thrip in the pot of one of my plants. drenching them with Azamax in the morning.

I see no physical damage or signs otherwise.

thats a little intense for a variegation. I have seen that before but typically only affect a fan leaf or two. If you say they aren't there then I have to take your word but I know its really hard to see thrips as they are fast and very small

The new growth as it emerges shows that variegation and when you look at it there is no damage to the leaf, it is coloration not leaf mining. I thought maybe something goes on at the roots that causes that if it's a pest?

I know what they look like - have seen one flyer and another crawling in a pot [fast as a mofo] so I have some thrips at this point and I can see minor damage where they have been. Hitting the coco with Azamax, spraying plants with spinosade[ monterey garden] and have up yellow sticky traps for any flyers and fungus gnats. Local shop was sold out of blue, thrips must be getting around.

Thanks for checking back.:tiphat:
