EZ-cloner neoprene collars

As many of you know ezcloner recently changed the material that they use to make their neoprene collars. IMO the new collars are complete garbage. Does anyone know where I can get the older version made with the stiffer material?

wow what? If that is truely the case then I will be purchasing a lot of the older ones. I clean mine every 4-6 weeks and they come out like new everytime. Never seen any reaosn to replace them but it will be nice to have some spares on hand.

Ya, dude. The new ones SUCK. I dont just use them to clone. I put them into 2" netpots and plug em into my aero unit and use them from start to finish, so I cant reuse them. But Im out right now and cant find any locally. I need them ASAP.

I specifically need the old ezclone brand ones. They are just the right thickness where I can cut them in half and get 2 out of 1. I have been using them for so long that nothing else will do. I bought out the local hydro shop when I saw that they began making the new substandard version. Thats why Im just running out now.

There has to be an online hydro shop that still has the old ones in stock. Someone hook me up and I will +rep every post you ever wrote, no matter how dumb.

Cut into "donuts" and slit open to form a strip, they can be pressed flat to cut a disc or rolled tighter to form a plug. Kinda like vinegar for pH Down, just enough to get you through the night.

Anyhoo, my sympathies. I hate when they drop the good stuff for new and improved bleh.

I found a guy on ebay claiming to have them. The price is fucking outrageous and it says "ezcloner type" inserts. Plus they come in packs of 50. EZ-clone brand came in packs of 30 or 65. So it seems a bit sketchy.

It's really a shame that all so called improvements always end up being for the worse. I can't remember the last time I saw a product actually improve after the manufacturer made a change to the design.

F. Dupp, im curious to know, what type of aero system do you use that uses 2" pots? ive been looking for that type of system for a while but without the pot. i mean a system where you can slip in a 2" neoprene but you have more root space that a 2" pot. the only one i can find is ones that use 3" pots so i would have to transplant the clones into bigger inserts. i was looking at the aeroflo 36

too big around sounds like an easy fix. Do your numbers make that impractical?

I build them myself-

Yes. As you can see. I also run perpetual, so all my units are in use at all times.

I dont use any nutes in the ezcloner when rooting clones. I fill the rez with RO water, 6 cups EWC tea, 10ml Great White, and pH to 6.0. I leave it at that for 3 weeks (although I do check the pH every 2 or 3 days and adjust it back to 6.0 if necessary).

When running seeds in the cloner, I pop them with the paper towel method, and when they get about 2" long I put them in the cloner. I dont feed them anything but the EWC tea at 1cup per 4 gal and Great White at 1ml/gal pHed to 6.0 for the first week. The second week I add 1ml/gal GH Grow, 1ml/gal Micro, 2ml/gal bloom. I always have to move seedlings into veg after about 15 days because they get too crowded.

In veg I use GH lucas formula slightly lowered to 6ml/gal Micro, 12ml/gal Bloom, which leaves me at about 900 ppm. Plus 1ml/gal Great White. I adjust pH to 5.6 and allow it to swing to 6.1. I veg for 3 weeks.

In flower I use GH lucas at 8Micro/16Bloom with 1ml/gal calmag. I have recently began running a sterile rez using bleach at 1ml per 10 gal every other day. By adding back to the rez I let PPM swing from 800-1200 usually. I allow pH to swing between 5.4 and 6.0
