hadn't heard this song in forever, it still sucked but brought back some amusing memories. Got me thinking about the movie it came from "Billy Jack". What a piece of #$&*. I remember my friends and I loved it at the time, smoking weed in the theatre back when you could still get away with stuff like that.

Does bring back memories. Thanks. I personally never saw the attraction of the maladjusted greaser who beat the shit out of everybody.

"Billy Jack" tried to be cool but couldn't quite get there. Wanted to be a hippie movie without drugs. Didn't that guy run for president one time?

The movie tried too hard and did not age well. But some of what seems to be understated dumbness was an accurate reflection of the silliness of the era.
American soldiers were shooting and killing American citizens at that time. Hard to make a smart movie with stupid silly like that happening for real.

Old and was there, it was not a pleasant time and some of the majors sentiments were so foolish as to be criminal, but there we were and things had to change.
The movie reflects the time it was made.

And the song still kicks, good now as it was then.

It could have been a good song...
actually could have been a great song in the right hands.

It's like someone drove a 65 mustang into a wall at 90 mph. Just horrible to watch.
Blaring horn sections looped on to what should have been a ballad. The producer should have been the janitor.

As for the movie itself?
No finer example of execrable film making, from first to last, can be found in the universe.
I could enumerate the reason why, for they are legion, but it would be pointless
and, quite frankly, ghoulish to desecrate the grave of a film so richly deserving to be buried and forgotten for eternity.

In the words of Forrest Gump...
"And that is all I can say about that."

Not at my place.
You got a thank you note instead of a bill.
Even when half the Guard Armory showed up. That's how us country folk do it.

The films "Billy Jack" and the biker movie where the Billy Jack character was introduced (the title escapes me), when adjusted for inflation, were 2 of the most successful independent films ever. Tom Laughlin (Billy Jack) is an interesting man and has done quite a bit with this short life.
