hi fellas. i am think of getting myself a 3 ft nft tank. my grow space is 3 ft long 2 ft wide and 6 ft high. i only want to grow one large plant in the tank. under a 400w hps. please could anyone give me a rough idea what type of yeild i would get. and how long should i veg the plant for before going 12/12 many thanks guys look forward to your replys.

Depends on a lot of other things. Like dub said, if you veg for 9 weeks, I'd say 4-7 ounces withjustthe info you gave. I would say grow 3 plants with a 4-8 week veg, depending on growth and I bet you would yield 4 oz each. That's about what I would yield in that space in soil anyway.

Because you may have a lot to learn and it seems like this may be the beginning of your hobby, you should expect to get .5 grams per watt, which is 200 grams. That's if you do ok and don't lose the crop trying to figure out what your doing wrong. You still have to learn about the specific strain and pheno that you are growing and that wil take you time. When you have the right mom and more experience you'll get closer to 400 grams or 1 gram per watt. It takes time and take lots of notes as your plants grow. They will teach you many things. Don't forget an EC and pH meter.

if you get over 6 o's, high-5 someone you love. no matter how much you read, there is ALWAYS a learning curve. start small, work your way up. there was a guy here who got over a 1lb on a 400w hps using chronic. of course, he had the strai nand set up dialed in with a laser.
