thats should be ok for one container. I use 360L/min with 24 5 gallon buckets, but used to use more. The more the merrier, if you get a chance to grab a second pump or one with much higher output I would suggest it. Oxygen in the nutrient mix is the name of the game in DWC, its ok for now but increase later.

by my calculations pureknowledge is using 15 l/min per bucket.....5 gallons = around 19 liters so imo it would be best to use a pump ATLEAST!!!! half of the ammount of liters per bucket....so you could use 7.5L/min or 10L/min per 5gal bucket...are you running just one bucket? if so just get another air pump and use 2 air stones(i like the round plastic ones that sit on bottom) good luck

i think lucas says 1w per 1 gallon of water..
i have 60w in 100 litres.. last year i had the half 30w with no problems.

The more air the better. What you have going is adequate, you'll do better to double it. I use one General Hydro Blue Stone pump for 4 5gal DWC Buckets.

Absolutely you can never have to much oxygen bubbling in there that's one thing to have more air. = healthy roots etc. But yeah dude a basic air pump single port for each bucket is def good. Obviously the bigger the container the more air ull nee d.

I only use a $12.00 walmart cheapy pump! Probably $6.oo in the states.

I'm not sure but I think it's less than 2 watts!....does my 5 gallon good! If fish can breath in it,it has to be good enough!
I have one plant that is now 3 weeks without aeration and it's still going strong...makes one think uh?

pfftt... definitely makes one think. had a root rot thread where i stated growing in dwc withour aeration was doable and was trounced. so much we dont know.

I didn't think it was doable till experiencing it myself. Bubble cloner becoming completely dry and plants still strong though not the healthiest. A mother without aeration...I didn't know as I missed the fact though the pump was working the stone was not producing air bubbles!

Having an air pump does make a difference...speed of growth and health especially!

Shit Pure that's a lot. I use the Alita AL-80 for 12 buckets and that only puts out 85 l/m. Where can I get the pump that you have? Please tell me more.

After a certain point, you reach maximum O2 saturation with air pump/air stones and anything beyond that is just wasted electricity.

Once the plant has established a good root system, simply maintaining the res level a few inches lower allows the roots to absorb plenty of oxygen with a minimal amount of bubbles needed. The bucket keeps moisture in and the roots absorb oxygen just like they would in soil.

It is also a bit of an insurance system in case you lose an air pump. The entire root mass isn't submerged and the roots can still take up oxygen because of the air gap.

At the start of flower I changed my stones and bought an improved pump. Now, I also increased my nutrient solution of course but in the three days that followed root growth multiplied. Air is bueno
