What's new

2 weeks of curing and still a bad taste

I also have some tahoe og that have just gone into jars after 4-5 days without trimming the bud leaves. my RH is between 50-60% also. yet again my hygrometer cannot be trusted.

Between 50 and 60 is ideal. Below that and you'd be right to be concerned. There ARE ways to 'rehydrate', but I'll let someone who's actually done this chime in.

Best of luck!

Thanks. I'll stay away from re hydrating though. I'll just learn from my experiences and do better next time. :)

so on the jars I have now that have a RH around 45-60 should be left for as long as possible without opening them? Is that the consensus? some people said burp and watch the RH. so its a bit confusing.

Right now the buds are crisp and DRIED not cured, but a bit spongy on the inside. good smell bad aftertaste.

If your already that low curring will not continue. I would close them and only take out what you want to smoke..

perfect link. thanks. I did use this exact technique, but after 2 weeks I still have the after taste. I will ock them up for the rest of the month and hopefully things will improve. The breeder has mentioned that people like this strain, so it should get better.

I tried to find a good one, but there was too many conflicting methods.

I didn't see any. I did have some bugs in the soil early in the grow. how do they effect the smell? very curious. thanks for the info

I thought I had gnats - but, then I learned about root aphids, Stresses the shit out of the plants - looks like deficencies or lack of water that causes the plants droop late in the day -

the little black fliers only appear afyer the plant is over infested - the fliers are egg carying scouts for new terratory.

You can usually see them on the roots with a big magnifier.

It ruined a lot of harvest - several strains have a "not good funk" overtone.

I've had gnats - these aint them.

That might have contributed to it. when I pulled the roots out they lok like they had som eggs and small bumps on them. I thought it was the beneficial s. no drooping plants though.

Thanks for your pics hammer. they help a lot. the link to tother conversation was the most helpful. Anyone wanting additional info should check that 89 plus page link.

I say get a new hygrometer. Sounds like that was your weak link. Jarring too early or too late is gonna affect flavor, definitely....potency, too, since that develops with the cure.

I always use the oldest cured bud first. Since I only smoke 1/4 oz a week my stash lasts me for a very long time. This is why I vac seal so it will stay fresh for years..

This is The White OG v2 she will be coming down in a few more days. I will snip off the large leaves and hang her in the dark for 5-7 days. Then continue the process :) Even after we cut them the plant continues to ripen as it is dying..
